    Default Immortal units?

Are dismounted bodyguards immortal or what? I was fighting a custom battle against poland. I was hre. The battle was losing and i had 1 unit of dismounted bodyguard left. They eventually took out 600 over enemy troops! (mixture of dfk and dismounted polish nobles). After the battle, i was surprised and checked the db stats. Their stats are almost the same as dfk and, just that they have 2 hit points. But surely that couldn't be enough to kill so many enemy troops.

kelvin do you mean you created them? Or were they from a historic battle?

I think I know what you're refering to, I don't know if you'll get alot of feedback from this because most people probably haven't used them...I haven't at least.

Oh i see. Do you know king richard's unit in the battle of agincourt? I kinda "unlocked" it. So i can use the unit. I didn't know it wasn't there in vanilla. sorry

Did you gave the unit any armor or weapon upgrade? That can give them "hidden" (weapon bonus is more than +1 to attack, but you can't see it) bonus. This was discussed in some thread here.

Yea, i gave them 1 sword upgrade and 2 exp. But at the most its attack and defense is only a cut above dfk. And whats more, they were surrounded, flanked. Yet they could survive and and give me victory. Think i should refrain from using them in campaign. There are kinda overpowered. (hidden causes?)

Well, if I remember correctly, one sword upgrade is more than +1 to attack. I think it was Lusted who said something about this in some thread. I wish I just could remember the thread. I'll try to search it.

    EDIT: Found it!

    That explains it a bit

most likely because they are a bodyguard, and dismounted, 2 hitpoints plus lots of armour and very high stats.

Wouldn't that make a unit of dck killing machines if they were fully upgraded with exp?

Wow, so wouldn't that mean that units produced from a province with master swordsmith and foundry be very powerful?
At such, a full stack from such a settlement would prove to be unbeatable eh?

You're overlooking the cost of creating and maintaining such an army as well as little things like mounted crossbowmen or reiters.
