    Default My Noob TLR Questions

    I have only tried out Road to Jerusalem and Lands to Conquer for mods for this game and someone directed me to this mod. I figured I would give it a shot and I want to but 1st I have some questions because this mod seems far more confusing than any other mods i've used.

    1. Normally I can see when and where I will get certain units in the building browser but when i tested it with denmark I didn't see any units? I also read something about "era's". DO i have to wait for an era to change to get upgraded units?? instead of just upgraded quickly??

    2. How is the Campaign AI? Alliances?

    3.Why is it that the English Longbowmen are no longer effective against armor?

    4. Excuse my ignorance but who are the new factions?? I can't seem to figure out who they are and one of them seems exactly like the turks just a different color and name.

    5. What is the reccomended difficulty? Usually I play on M/VH or atleast that's the case with LTC. This way the campaign AI isn't stupidly aggressive but battles are not a walk in the park.

    6. I thought I read that there is dismounted bodyguard units for certain factions but I did not see them in custom battle..can this only be found in the actual campaign?

    7. When I look at A faction in custom battle...do they get every single one of those units that it shows unlike vanilla where there is gothic knights that you don't get and with some of the italian factions they don't get broken lances ect ect?? Is that the case with this mod also or can i depend on everything to be in the campaign that i see other than the mercaneries (i did read about the mercanary guild btw...great idea)

    Thank you for all you help in advance. I will probably get started 2morrow night because I don't feel like I have enough time to get a faction started now and I don't feel like I know enough...seems like a whole new game lol

    i already did but it's soooo long. I want to read a summary and know a few things...not read a novel on this thing. I just asked a few questions...
    And i can almost guarantee the answers are not there for some of the questions, getting someone's personal experience is always better in my opinion.

    1. Yes, you can see what units you can recruit. Yes, you have to wait to get certain units. But it is worth waiting for. The game is much more accurate. No you cannot upgrade super quickly. This game is a 2 TPY mod.

    2. The Campaign AI varies as to what faction you play. As Poland, It has been 20 years, and I still am not at war with anybody. But there are other countries who are waring with each other. Wait for the next update, the AI will be a bit more aggressive.

    3. Because they never were historically affective against armor. They would just bounce off plate armor. (thats what I think Tornnight meant to do... not sure about it... have to ask him)

    4. The two in the middle are similar, I think... not sure... but you would have to ask tornnight
    * Kievan Rus'
    * Abbassid Caliphate
    * Syrian Caliphate
    * Kwarzemian Empire

    5. That is what I play at. M/VH You explained it well. = )

    6. have to ask tornnight. Have not experience that yet. (only have played as POLAND)

    7. have to ask tornnight.

    HOPE THAT HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    BTW, This mod is the best. I have never enjoyed a mod so much.

    6. They are there for the Northern factions. e.g. England Scotland, etc.

    7. Yes you are able to get all the faction specific units.

    Actually the longbow was VERY affective against plate armor. I do believe that is what made England able to stand against the heavily armoured French knights. Arrows from a longbow could penetrate the plate armor.

    And yes this is the best mod Ive played for MIITW. Cant wait for the new release Torn!

    1. as each era happens, those units that are tied to that level of armor appear.

    2. I play on medium and when I make an alliance with the AI they're very good about sticking to it-I actually break the alliances more then them.

    3. I saw a show on the History Channel or Discovery Channel and they were able to show that longbows where not effective against armor.

    4. The Russian faction has been split to two, one centered in novogrod the other in kiev. i think the turkish faction has been split into two, one in turkey and one centered around syria. And on the far right of the map the Kwarzemian Empire has been added. I think as tornnight gets time/help he will differentiate these factions more. He also plans on adding more factions.

    Well thanx for the responses guys it helped a lot. I must say I am a little dissapointed about the english longbowmen thing but you gotta do what you gotta do i guess lol I just feel like exellent archers were their "thing" and now they are pretty useless when knights come around.

    That last faction you mentioned Kwasa...something.. who are they and where do they hail from?? Sorry I have never heard of them

    ahh i see, interesting. I did notice something that I had to ask about. I noticed th Scot's Guard and the French Mounted Archers are still armor penetrating and they are not crossbow units? Is this simply an accident or is there a reason behind this?

    Accident actually. I also fixed some of the longbowmen who didn't have the Armour Piercing attribute.
