What is the purpose of launching dead cows with a trebuchet(sp)?

The unit's banner will start flashing green and nothing else will happen. What does that do?

Trebuchets can toss them, just click on the "special ability" button twice in battle. First time activates flaming projectiles, second time activates dead cows. Used for lowering enemy morale.

ya but the gay thing is, if you send your troops, it also affects them. and by the time you wait for the dead cows to disappear, your enemy wont be affected by it

I usually use all my artillery ammo before I send in my troops anyway.

Dead cows will cause your enemies to lose morale AND stamina. Found this out in a fight in a city where dead cows were lying around.

But in a nutshell, you fire at them when they are attacking so they are affected but not your men. What it does is put a hurten on the moral and increases the chance to make the route. To get this you have to keep clicking on the Trebuche's special ability until a cow picture turns up. It hsould go fire, cow, nothing and bla bla...

the dead cows ability shoud be used in sieges not in field battles, otherwise your right the flagsflash green and thats it. As sicily i marched a full stack of trebs to rome fired all the cows i could, ran off and 4 turns later the city was empty and had been decimated by plague.
