    Default General's Mood Swings

Every other turn one of my family members either feels Appreciated: +1 Loyalty, and the next turn he feels unappreciated: -1 Loyalty.

Why does this happen? It's really starting to annoy me.

It usually happens when a General gets married?

I can honestly say I've never experienced that. How odd. CA have managed to implement an almost real-life system without anyone at all noticing. lol. TBH, i don't know what's up with that; maybe whatever triggers those traits keeps coming and going each turn, perhaps he's only doing worthwile things every other turn

this happens alot in 1.2 mood swings for marriage into other factios IE. royal ties will give +3 to loyal, -1 when left rotting away in a settlement thats only in my experience

it depends what type of character or general he is.

for example, i have a family member that has only 1 star command but his is a 'budding bureaucrat' and so i left him in my capitol and he never got pi*sed off, and eventually he got traits like 'understands trade' and 'mining knowledge' etc etc.

When i have a family member/general with good command and military traits, he gets annoyed when i leave them in cities idle. so it depends what type of character he starts out as.

it does happen alot, you just have to make sure your 'Generals' that have good military traits, are out in combat all the time, otherwise you will allways get the feeling un-appreciated trait. the worst one is when a general 'feels 'disrespected' thats even worse lol

i think its actually -3 loyalty! none of my generals have the trait at the moment. its quite an uncommon one. but hey look at this one...this one is brilliant!!!

ever since 1.2 patch that has happened to all of my generals constantly!

I think it's a trait fix - bug, (they maybe added something to the traits that brought along a bug with it?)

I see this all the time too now that I patched to 1.2.

Sometimes it makes perfect sense, like when you adopt someone into the royal family and the other "brothers" feel less appreciated, or when you leave a military commander sitting in a city, or you keep taking a bureaucrat into battle.

But sometimes it makes no sense, like when you marry off a daughter or princess and her brothers feel unappreciated. Is this some sort of weird incestuous thing or what?

I had an 8 loyalty general who got the "Feels unappreciated" trait. The next turn he went rebel. I sent a unit of spearmen against him, slaughtered him, and the captain of the spearmen unit got a "Man of the Hour" thing. The new guy had *Really* good stats too.

man of the hour lets you get great generals, but my god does the adoption annoy me....and like you said, why do generals with high loyalty always feel unappreciated? ive taken to never accepting marriages, adoptions or man of the hour at all, unless ive set up a marriage myself. its just too much hassle with heirs and so on.
