Can you believe it.. I was going great guns in my England campaign. I was not adopting anyone and following the royal line. I'm at 1279 and my last General has died - he was 65. The problem is I have a 15 year old just about to turn 16 (his son) and the game wont let me continue! Isn't that just typical!! lol.. I used a save game to go back, and tried to purchase myself a general just so I could continue the game (which I've spent absolutely hours on I hasten to add!) and it doesnt want to play. Heeeeelp..

Ohh ohh. Thats because a general isn't in the family tree. He's just the hired help. He would have to get adopted.

Umm here are some things to try.
Open up The_Long_Road/data/descr_campaign_db.xml

Look for

Try modifying the old age setting to 70.
That may help your King to live on.

aww thanks for the quick reply mate.. I shall give it a try! It's just this king was an amazing character - I built him up, and was almost maxed out, his son would have been a right belter

My king lived to 75, and left a son, with some excellent traits.
