Please Help. Campaign/Custom Battles do not work

First of all thank you for making this great mod.

I downloaded the mod quite easily by following florins indepth and very good installation guide. I did not find any map files that they said to delete so i do not think that is the issue. Whenever i attempt to start a New Campaign or a custom battle the game stops, and the little windows bell beeps. I saw the message the first time it came up and it was something like..

cannot find barbarian/horse archer.(something)

I wish i could see it again but the screen freezes up so i have to go into sleep mode to get out, but when i take the comp out of its sleep the message is gone and i cant see what it says.

If anyone has any advice as to what i could do to resolve this problem i would greatly appreciate it.

BTW my game is TW:eras so it has all the patches and the vanilla version works just fine, so im not quite sure what the problem is

1. did you use the simple version of RTRPE v1.8 or the mod switched version?
2. have you made any modifications or installed any add-on on top of it?

I have te mod switched 1.8v. I havent installed any other mods, modified anything and havent installed anything on top of it

Well, if the message is correct you are missing a texture or model depending on how the message continued. That could only happen if you either modified the game yourself or installed an add-on or if somehow you managed to partly install it in a wrong place. Or maybe a corrupt download. Without a clear error message it is hard to know exactly what was missing. The mod switch version was made by Macedonn. I haven`t tried it yet.
BTW, are your video drivers up to date? While unrelated to the message it can be a cause for that freeze.

Yes sir, the drivers are all up to date. 2 month old computer with vista. i payed a hefty price for this baby. 3.2 ghz, 2 512 mb nvidia video cards, and even that new 512mb physics cards. So i know that it isnt a lack of anything to do with my computer.

Should i just reinstall the mod and put it into the copy that i made? (you said to make an extra copy, so i did )

Well, it is something to see someone who reads the instructions before installing and posting. It`s what makes me sad this time that I`m not that able to help you, but what you experience is rather odd. To my knowledge nobody reported anything similar. Now, you mention having Vista. I`ve read in more then one mod`s sub-forum that people are having problem because of it. A guy with XGM also mentioned freezes, but not after similar events as what you are experience. By any chance, have you tried RTRPE before getting vista?
Try a reinstall using the unmodded copy of RTW you did(make another copy after this one so you`ll still have a spare one) and if it does the same thing, maybe someone more familiar with vista can be of more help(presuming that is what`s wrong).
