Default The Biblical Creation matches the Scientific Creation

"In the beginning G-d created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters." God makes the first day and night; the "firmament" separating "the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament;" dry land and seas and plants and trees which grew fruit with seed; the sun, moon and stars in the firmament give light upon the earth; creates air-breathing sea creatures and birds; and on the sixth day, makes "the beasts of the earth according to their kinds." "Then God said, Let us make man in our image ... in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." On the Sabbath (or seventh) day God rests from the task of completing the heavens and the earth: "So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all his work which he had done in creation."

Everything is in scientific order. Either the Bronze Age Jews had pretty good knowledge of the Earth's creation or something else.....

How would they know that the Earth wasnt created alone? Wouldnt the ideas of the time support everything revolved around Earth and that Earth was #1?

How did they know it was dark? They didnt have much knowledge of the atmoshpere so how could they know that?

How did they know water was created first? Wouldnt you expect terrestrial creatures to believe the land was first?

How could they know that Sea Creatures came first? How did they know birds came after?

How would they know mammals were the most recent species?

These are some pretty good "guesses"

'fish' and 'birds' are on the same day according to that passage
How would they know mammals were the most recent species?
it says 'beasts' not mammals and very little about 'species'

How did they know it was dark? They didnt have much knowledge of the atmoshpere so how could they know that?
i dont even understand that but the idea about light and dark in the Bible is more philosophical than literal in its origins

sorry but this is a pretty old story scholars have been pointing this out for years

    Exactly.

While it may be 'convincing' from one angle (and grasping at straws from another) it remains circumstantial at best.

It is far from scientific proof, and honestly, I doubt there ever will be conclusive scientific proof. That's why they call it 'faith'.
