    Default OMG, it works now!

    Hi gents,

My very first 4 SPQR campaings (3 with 6.2 and 1 with 6.3) ended painfully because all the saved files got corrupted and suffered from constant CTDs, specially after fighting huge battles (mostly with 2-5 stacks and siege battles). It was fustrating.

Now I have disabled AUTOSAVE (set it to OFF)
Now I NEVER FORGET TO ACTIVATE DE 4TPY/GARRISON SCRIPT
Now I save and reset my pc after 3 or 4 hours of SPQR experience...

And my saved files are working flawless damn good.
And I have only suffered one lonely CTD after playing a very huge siege battle after being playing SPQR for almost six hours. If I regularly exit the game and reset the computer after 3 hours of playing, NO MORE CTDs happen, even with huge siege battles (so no more memory issues occurs, I think).

Sorry about my bad english, Its only that I feel really excited about being able to play SPQR again. Da beast RTW experience out there.

BTW, will be 6.3 saved games compatible with 6.4? Any hints about 6.4 release date?

    Thanks in advance.

What are your computer specs? I upgraded my x850xt to an x1900xt and have not had any CTDs. I used to have the same ones you have, after big battles or playing for a long time.

Hi miki. The problem with your CTD is because of your video card cooling system. I had this video card Ati radeon 9600 xt and CTD a lot after huge battles. The reason was overheating. Now I have an ATI RADEON x1600 xt but with 3 coolers more than previous configuration. Now CTD is history for me

Try to add more coolers on your PC. An 120mm in diam. cooler that will let air flow directly on your video card is vital.

No saved games wont work right with 6.4 Basically because of the script changes but other things as well. You can use anything but it could corrupt your campaign, better just to start a new anyway as it will be the last SPQR.

OMG... I won't be able to continue my campaign in 6.4? I thought 6.3 was the last version and 6.4 only an upgrade

I'm sticking with my 6.2 campaign. I'm only going to start a 6.4 when I finish my current one. This campaign can't get messed up, because I have a savegame from every year all the way back to 240, so if I discover somethings wrong I can go back to any time.

Dates were changed from 240BC to 215 to match Hannibals attack, this will mess up Script players as the script was modified.

Sorry I have to redo my Campaign also and I was doing well. lol It worth Playing a NEW campaign as ALOT of changes are NOT noticeable unless you play a new campaign anyway. I am stiffing as much as I can in this version. lol New Gloss files also.

Keep in Mind also its overheating but also something in RTW that flips out and CTD's the game unlike some more stable games liek HL2 that can overheat without issues. Its an issue with RTW really, but its VC heating related to the game engine.

    Hi gents,

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I'm eagerly waiting for 6.4, BUT I'll try to play my current campaign until the end, as its beign extremely fun and challenging.

I'll try to get a new cooler, btw...
