Default How do you setup a wireless network?

So far, my network (wired connection to XP computer via Linksys wireless router) has been unstable and had the tendency to fall apart.
In Vista, I can't set it up at all as the EasylinkConnect program that was used for it no longer works. My question is, how do I setup a wireless network without using that program?

I asked a similar question and they all told me to get another link cable.

Physically connect yourself to the router, I guess

I was in the same situation as you until a few days ago, when I finally gave up with perseverance and grabbed some Cat6

I have done this but used the software that came with my router, you don't have that so check this out...

    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/more...lesssetup.mspx

    ...does that help?

@ the OP - you're best off trying using Vista's default wireless networking tool.

In theory, it should be able to recognise your wireless card, if not by model, and provide the appropriate drivers.

It may not work, but trying that while googling '[whatever model your card is] Vista' may work...

    I don't have a card (I have a USB wireless receiver).
Regardless, I'm trying to go for a wired connection with this computer.
