Default default units experience in vanilla RTRPE

Looking in the EDB of vanilla RTRPE I see that the only troops recruited with experience(apart form the slave faction) are those of Carthage and Pontus. Carthage has 1 for experience at muster_field level and 2 for militia_barracks and Pontus has 1 for both. No other faction recruits units with experience all be it line infantry, missile units or cavalry. My question. Is there any historical or game play reason why it should be like that or should these be removed?

The reason for the fact that these two factions have start exp with the AOR unit is that they used a lot off levied foreigners and mercs. This way the game reflects this by giving them better aor units.

Its is indeed a bit off a weird system. But its the best solution for the moment is my opinion.

True, looking in the file again I see that only the foreign aor troops(not the faction ones) get the experience, but still, these are aor and not mercs. I don`t suppose all the iberian troops the carthaginians levied in spain for a campaign or another were experienced troops. And what`s that got to do with it? I mean the carthaginians recruit them with experience and the romans recruit them without from the same place? What`s the logic? Plus, this is not as to compensate for the fact that the cathaginians don`t get faction units in most places. Because the romans who can recruit faction units from muster_field up don`t recruit them with any experience. Without wanting to turn this into a passionate historical debate(I sincerely hope it won`t happen ) the carthaginians employed both mercenaries and troops provided by "allied" states/tribes/cities according to the treaties existing between them. These were not professional soldiers in the same sense life long mercs were. So, the historic reason doesn`t seem that valid to me. Is there a gameplay reason then? I was thinking that this system helps the pontics held ground in the face of the bigger faction in that area, but I wonder how much use it has. As for the carthaginians, they seem to start in an already powerful position(in all senses) and don`t seem to be needing any extra help.

One thing I want to make clear. I started this open debate for my own interest mainly, not as a way to initiate a vanilla RTRPE change. That may happen, but it wasn`t my goal.

I'd honestly prefer that there be a way to start units off with SOME training. With 9 levels of expertise, it seems to me that there is enough room to simulate the intensive training that the Romans utilized at the height of their power. This would help CPU factions as well, as they don't have the "Omg save this elite unit at all costs!" mentality that most players do. I'm not talking about starting units off with 2 silver chevrons, but buildings that could start units off with a few bronze chevrons would be welcome, in my opinion.

Probably that is some kind of mistake...
