    Default Breaking alliances

Hey all, just wandering if anyone finds reputation quite harsh. I play as England and for the first few turns i spent time building alliances and organising trade routes with most of the Catholic factions and built a reputation as being "reliable", however later on, two of my Allies declared war on each other and no matter what side i choose to back, my reputation plumets to "untrustworthy" (due to breaking alliegances with one faction). That was hmm... 100 turns ago now lol, so basically all the Catholic factions refuse to talk with my diplomats and i cant think of a way to rebuild the trust. Anyone have any ideas?

Money talks. Whatever faction is a priority for you to have good relations with, gift them some. Whether a lump sum or a nice tribute for a while, they'll be grateful. Doesn't have to be anything too extravagant either. 100-500 will do. Of course, the more you give, the more they'll like you. If you have plenty to spare (doubtful), go for it up to 1,000 or something.

Heh, true money talks and i'v spent a great deal bribing factions however the problem is that my reputation is "untrustworthy" so if it's not gifts they refuse to talk to me.

Is there any way to increase my overall reputation? Ie increasing from "untrustworthy" to "reliable"? And does constant warring hinder this, because i'v been at war with Syria for over 25 years now hehe.

    Cheers.

Ahh, yes the reputation. You know, I'd like to know myself what would make that increase. I guess just not breaking alliances and backstabbing and all those kinds of things. You probably have to try and foresee possible conflicts that could arise and only choose one faction to ally with so as to avoid a problem like this.

I think I've got myself into a mess like this as Spain, I'm allied with France and recently secured a treaty with the Reich as well. It's inevitable they'll go to war and I'll lose reputation in the same way you have by having to back one up.

It's weird though because I don't remember a message in M2 asking to choose between two factions. I thought I hadn't seen that since Rome. Was it introduced in the patch?

Seems like it was. I'm going to be adjusting reputation and AI for the next release. I'm aiming for something a bit more reasonable.
