Do you make it to the gunpowder era?

I can't ever seem to make it far enough along in a campaign to get the gunpowder units. Is it worth it???? I'm at 1237, about 100 years to go with Spain, I'm gonna try and make it, but if 2.01 comes out I'm gonna have to download it.

So are the hand gun units worth the wait?

I saw gunpowder on my very first campaign months ago.. it was vanilla TLR with the 2 years per turn BS. Since using 6 months per turn (I changed that back in vanilla, led me to TLR), I have never seen gunpowder. I either win (~45 regions) or get bored. I'll conquer the entire map one of these days...

have never conquered the entire map on a total war game, an old roomate did that in RTR with the Thracians, but that was back in college and he was a Mountain Dew addict with no personal life.

Well I'm trying to make it to the gunpowder age, no new TLR releases recently has helped, but I'll probably have conquered most of Western Europe and switch campaigns before I get much farther.

Also, a new version usually comes out before you can conquer the world - depending on how much time you spend playing (i.e. 2.0.1 is going to come out soon and I'm going to scrap my Egypt campaign and play as something else that I've never played before, which there are still probably half the factions available that I haven't played yet).

It won't be out this weekend unless I get tons of time to work on it. The good news is that my new surprise is working out good.

Dammit, im hopeing for a garrison script, ( any chance of porting Klinks garrison script into TLR?) if i dont get it ill stamp my feet and hire some clowns to come vist infernocanuck

I love suprises. Unless it's clowns popping out of cake. Then I hate them.

o.O That sounds interesting, well there goes my Turkish campaign. Can't wait to play it though.

But yes, I have never made it to Gunpowder either. I never finished my first campaign as the English as I ended up changing the turns to 6 months as well...

I've not made it to gunpowder yet, but my Spanish Campaign is no where nere completion either. So I have time. Traditionally with Spain, I take the Iberian Pennensula and then proceed down the African Coast to the Holy Land. With 45 provences to take (and counting) I'll need to take a few more provences to 'win' and at present, the Mongols are happy in Bagdad wasting the entire Middle East.

So I anticipate a fight come Egypt.

I am also playing spain, I took the Iberian Penisula, then set up Crusader States in Jerusalem along with the Islands belonging to the Byzantines, but then I felt bad for the Syrians, and gifted back all those regions to them. I have now taken northern africa, and have decided to carve a path through Italy, look out Pope here I come.

Also on a side note, I have finnally reached the gunpowder innovation, but I can't build any gunpowder units, or buildings, I have already constructed the Royal academy/military academy so I'm a bit confused.

My troops are ready to join the NRA dangit where are our firearms...
