Including CNP
Could it not be possible to combine these two major mods, so that you can enjoy the benefits of both.
CNP has before been adopted to match DLV, and other mods like LTC actually has CNP included. So, could it not at least be discussed if the DLV-team will consider to include it? Its just proper naming!
Right now I dont know what to do.
Either I should play the Vanilla with CNP, I will get proper naming but I will miss the good gameplay,
OR
I could just use DLV, I get the good gameplay, but I will miss the proper naming then.

Re: Including CNP
Combining the mods is not a huge problem.
Take the names from CNP descr_strat.txt and c+p them to the DLV one, if there are extra rebels, etc., make up names from CNP descr_names.txt, make sure you keep with the factions and sub_factions.
I believe Ireland, Flanders and Kiev have been added to this mod, I have just made an Irish namelist for Kingdoms, add that to the CNP descr_names.txt and names.txt, following deR's instruction thread, use the Russian one for Kiev and do what you want with Flanders, maybe a French/German mixture, but I would imagine DeZzErX would have given good Flemish names.
Would need to edit the expanded.txt as well if you want to use that. If you have any questions, just ask.

Re: Including CNP
I have combined the Descr_strat, Descr_names and expanded.txt now.
There is two more major files, names.txt.strings & expanded.txt.strings, which I cant do anything with however, as they are BIN-files.
When I try to open a new campaign, it just crashes back to the previous menu. So, something is still not working, and I guess it is the two BIN-files that are causing it...
Any suggestion on how to fix this?

Re: Including CNP
Have you edited names.txt as well? All the names in descr_names must be in name.txt with the special coding.
Once you have expanded and names.txt edited and saved, leave them in the text folder, and move the names.txt.strings & expanded.txt.strings to your desktop or somewhere. Then the game will build new names.txt.strings & expanded.txt.strings with the information from the two like minded text files.

Re: Including CNP
Names_lookup is not needed.
Put a copy of names, descr_strat and descr_names in one folder and run this programme.
Will tell you about any faults.
If then you have problems, see what's wrong in your system log.

Re: Including CNP
Good...
There were some problems with some Rebel Characters who had surnames that the game thought was firstnames.
I fixed the problems and even generated a new names_lookup which machted.
I deleted the old BIN-files, started the game, and it still cant start!
I have ran through most of the folders, edited minor mods back to the original state, but I cant find anyother things...
My last guess that what is wrong lies in the Expanded.txt. I have just copied descriptions which included the new factions and added it in the CNP expanded.txt. Have I forgotten anything, done something wrong?
I will try to reinstall the M2TW, sees if that help...

Re: Including CNP
Impossible.
Start the game, try to start a campaign, if it fails, exit totally, and open your system.log.txt in the M2TW folder. There must be an error on the bottom.
You can get to the pick faction screen, can you?

Re: Including CNP
I can pick a faction and when I then say "start campaign" it exits back to the previous menu.
I have checked it, double checked, even trible checked it, there are no problems in the system log!
I am currently installing the game again, hoping that I can find the mistake...

Re: Including CNP
Maybe it will, seems very strange, system log always told me what error caused the problem.

Re: Including CNP
Indeed, sounds strange.
Perhaps the error is in some other file. I also have Xenophonia and Zappa's changes installed. Dont now how much this does...!?
I will try and install one bit at a time, systematically going through the moddings.

Re: Including CNP
It's most likely a conflict with Zappas as it changes some of the flemish names - Xenophonia shouldn't do anything.

Re: Including CNP
I am SO close to throw my computer out the window right now...
Everything worked fine, before I added CNP. Both with Xenophonia and Zappas changes. Even with the minor tweaks I had made myself it worked...
I added the CNP files, the game wouldnt start (get to pick nation, but I cant actually start)
Then I replaced them with the old files, But it still didnt want to start!!!
I dont get it!
Now my names.txt.strings cant be deleted. I cant move it, I cant replace it... The file is damaged it says.
i dont know what to do anymore. There are no errors in the system log.
Check it yourself.
