surprised me, havn't visited their forums for a while so I didn't see any hints on a patch coming soon.

    Looks good.

Free minting is now a thing of the past.
This should drastically change the way many people play. Hope they tested how the AI will work with this.

    - Culture loss threshold is now 5% instead of 20%.
Nice, that is what imago dei does already.

    - Annexed countries now lose all cores on overseas territory and provinces with a different culture group.
    OMFG!
    - Force conversion should now stick until the current monarch dies.
    That is awesome.
    - Tweaked probability to inherit through unions to be bigger.
    hmmm......
    - Backend text should now be 'title-neutral' (no more 'Stadtholder Charles XII')
    I wonder what this means?
    - National Decline only affects Latin countries
    good.

Hey, thanks for the heads up! Is this save game compatible? :hmmm:

AI should no longer keep all ships in separate fleets.

Hrmm, I'll have to wait and see how they handled that, but I'm very glad if they did it well.

And yay on AI fleet merging!

Most of the AI tweaks sound good... but do they play well? We'll see...

Sardinia gets a core on Sardinia
    Hah.

    EDIT:
Fixed a fair amount of typos and broken egnlish.
Uh, do you suppose thats intentional?

The fleet merging thing drove me insane. My computer would lag for minutes on end waiting for the fleet to merge. I'd go off and get food or something, come back, and find out I'd been annexed or something in the wait.

(unbelievable, the biggest farce in the history of culture mishaps is still in, aka Azeri Van )

I'm a little bit disappointed in 1.3. Okay, the no lagging from ship stacks is wonderful, but no real effect on play. AI peace seems a bit more logical, but it is too early to tell. Nothing else seems any different. I know its only a patch, so I shouldn't expect game changing differences... but still.

I've noticed the AI blocks straights with their fleets, they tend to be more aggressive on offense, they seem to respond better to troops massing on their boarders.

Granted I don't have a huge basis of comparison since I'm an EU n00b. But, it does seem a tad harder now (both economically and militarily.)

Well, blocking straights would probably have an impact on naval warfare, which I tend to avoid. More aggressive AI is always a double edged sword. While it makes things more challenging often, aggressiveness is not always the best choice for an AI nation. I can't say I've noticed better border defense, but I tend to attack in overwhelming numbers in wars I'm assured to win.

Still, perhaps it is more challenging. That is nothing but good, imo.

ok, i read something wrong then. Some guys in the Patch thread at paradox were flipping out, and I suppose I read them wrong...they were mentioning auto-loans upon hitting 0 and I was freaking out, and it was late..

Blocking straits actually hapened in 1.2. I could never cross at Byzantium during my numerous wars with the Ottomans becasue they always kept a fleet there.

As for the auto loans, just avoid hitting zero ducats and everything will be fine I gather. I have never hit zero ducats in my limited EU3 experience, so I really don't know what free minting is.

It's a pity that they nerfed the Incite Against Mechants espionage. Now it will be very difficult to compete against the lucky AI factions with their 10% bonuses. Espionage is now even more useless than ever before.
