Icon3 [IDEA] Charging Bug (How to Fix)

I once had a mod called "Divided Kingdoms". I've noticed a lot of people complaining about the CA charge bug. As I seem to remember I fixed this problem by halving all charging distance values in the export_units file. It was tedious but it seem to really improve battles. I think the author of stainless steel should really think about implementing it.

The way the CA bug seems to work is that the longer a unit charges for the more confused and scattered it gets so when the first rank hits a unit it is classified as 'engaged' and the rest of the unit stop where they are. Experimenting with lower charge values made me realise that units (espicially cavalry) work much more effectively with low charge rates.

Just a friendly heads up from an old modder, you might want to check this out.

    Mike you are t3h noobz.

When you decrease the charging distance, the units will not charge until they are almost in the face of whoever they are about to engage. This will help with unit cohesion so that your melee units do not get all discombobulated when charging.

Yup, Ronin's right. I played Divided Kingdoms and his charge radii worked very well.
