    Default Pics of your Empire?

I noticed this forum doesn't have any threads of this nature, and seeing as how AARs obviously frighten most people(I don't blame you, it is a lot of work for minimal gain), perhaps I can convince some of you to give a quick screenshot and history of your XGM empire. It will take ten minutes of your time....and I'm interested in seeing how the A.I. evolves with this mod i.e. does it usually behave on a historically accurate basis. So, if you have a few minutes, use photoshop(or gimp, it's free) to convert your bitmaps into jpegs, upload them to one of the thousands of hosting sites, and post them here, and, if you're feeling spicy, give a short history of your progression as well...(figures Redfox, Locky, Basilekes, and a few others will be the only ones to post, but thats good enough for me).

P.S. Don't forget to toggle_fow, so we can see a.i. progression, which is what I'm really curious about...

17 views and not one response....the words "boring" and "yawn" come to mind....I'm going back to the .Org, at least people talk to each other there.

Please don't we like your AAR Actually i saw your post this morning and managed to take couple of ss before going to work. So i'll post them from my office pc, but if i get fired it's your foult!

So here we go with my top 3 campaigns ATM. all are M/M difficulty

This is my longest campaign atm the year is 250 bc and soon Croton will reach the required pop. for imperial palace. that is if the plague doesn't hit first.
At the begining the republic was in peril due to Pyrhus invasion but the Senate decided to give the prominent general Decius Mus the control of all available troops. Decius managed to crush Pyrhus in the fields of Campania, wich opened the way for the romans to take over southern Italy and Sicily. He bacame known as Graecus for his victories over the greeks.
On the nortern front General Scipio attacked the gauls who left him a pleasant surprise in Genoa - shrine to Epona! the horse godess will bring fortune to the legions. As you can see now the major enemy are the germans and almost all legions are fighting them, but i'm confident in the final outcome... the gauls have a stack or two but the combined iberian roman and german efforts against them will crush them soon...

    my most aggresive campaign.
its only 275 bc and i've already taken alot of seleucid lands. early on Baktra was captured too to save me the headaches later. the battle was furious but ended with total victory. Ardumanish and Kyaraxes became famous as "the Horseman" due to their heroic deeds on the battle field. Now i'm planing to send to the action two other generals so i'll have the Four Horsemen
The old median capital Ecbatana was taken by a scout forse in order to deny the seleucids access to the famous median cavalry. This conquest will seal Arsaces's claim to become King of the kings and resurect the old Achamenid empire

Finally thanks to your AAR i resurected an old Bactria game and it is by far the most enjoyable experience ever... every battle is an adrenaline rush. as you can see my allies the parthians have spread and are taking most of the seleucid hits. Early in game the seleucids managed to take the upper hand in the Syrian war agains the ptolemeis and captures Side, Sidon and Jerusalem. the efforts on the eastern front and the general incompetence of the AI negated all their succeses.
Now Merv and Prah are under siege but that is because i was too tired to fight last night and left them for today or tommorrow
Ok that's for now because i have to work

Don't worry, I was just messin....I just wish more people would get involved. Generally, forums are for talking, but, to each his own, I guess. Oh, and don't get fired becuz of me.

Carthage and Ptolemies are monsters in your Roman Campaign. Anyways, maybe increasing the Arabian and Saharan rebel garrisons (in both quantity and quality) would restrict such ahistorical conquest. I'd prefer to see Carthage stay a coastal empire, and the Ptolemies (or the Seleucids for that matter) never conquered so much of Arabia, (I'm not 100% sure about that one, though). *Wishes they would consider adding an Arabian Faction in the next release....get rid of the Rebels*....you can keep the Kingdom of Cyrene, just call it the Kingdom of Cyrene. If I knew the first thing about modding, I would make an Arabian Faction mod for XGM, but I don't. *Looks at the modders in the forum, assuming any of them still visit besides Redfox).

Well i decided to leave the Carthage be in my roman campaign since i wanted more action later. maybe i'll recieve more than what i've bargained for since they are fielding armored elepahts....
I'm really hoping that everithing with Dimebagho is OK and he just took a leave for that thing called M2TW again...
And yes Bactria is a blast. i always enjoy playing with them or Parthia since these campaigns are never boring.
For tommorow i cant decide should i try the Scythians or new parthian campaign to start a proper AAR

I don't think I've ever seen a Scythian AAR, so that would definitely be interesting. But so would a Parthian AAR....so my answer is either one should be a blast to play, just prepare for a lot of boring notetaking....but we need more XGM AARs....so it's worth it in my eyes.

Everyone seems to focus on the eastern factions, probably because that part of the map wasn't available in the vanilla map....perhaps a western faction would be good? Really, whatever tickles your fancy, as long as you enjoy yourself.

Quickly wasting Gauls, and attempt to turn them into horde so they could invade Iberia. Easing my conquest. Divide et impera.

I apologize for not posting my empire...I really don't know how to take screen shots and display them...

Though I currently am GCS and am as far east as Damascus and far west as Genua...have taken Sicily and the Italian peninsula...if anyone could direct me toward explicit screen shot instructions I can post...thanks

Well, here are some pictures of my empire. As you can see I'm playing with the Greeks.

The beginning was frickin' hard, but I managed to kick the Macedonians out of Greece without even using my Spartan Royal Guard.

After that, I pushed into Asia-Minor. It didn't take me long to conquer them. I blitzed the Thracian coastline, while rebellions in Chersonnesos and Scythica Minor handed me that region. During this time, my economy was working overtime and I was making some huge profits (I built and upgraded dockyards, which meant 40% extra income thanks to Mr. Colossus).

Antioch was the last stop on my Eastern Campaign. I fended off the Seleucid attacks while establishing a naval power (a lot of ports were constantly being blocked). Now I'm the major naval power in the Mediteranian.

When Rome declared war on Thrace, I quickly conquered the rest of the Thracian cities, before Rome could. This meant that war with Rome (who was an ally 'till then) would be inevitable. Good thing my alliance with Germania still stands, considering they're one of the other major European forces. So after Rome attacked one of my cities, they had to face the best of the civilized and the barbarian world has to offer.

I destroyed the Roman navy, blocked their ports and landed troops in Sicily and South-Italy, while the bulk of the Roman army was north, battling the Germans and one of my armies. Now they're fighting a losing battle.

While this is going on, there are some other interesting things happening. Like in Masilia. Another city that was thrown in my lap after the citizends rebelled against their Independant Greek leaders. After that, countless of full-stack armies of Iberians went up against me.

At first I could hold them at the bridge, but I didn't have a lot of phalanxes so I retreated into the cities. Since then, I beat off a lot of Iberian invasions, while my phalanxes were racking up the exp. points. Now I can hold them at the bridge and I don't have to worry about any sieges. Emporion, on the other hand, is prone to being besieged. I'll have to send in a relief force, or they won't last any longer. Luckily the Carthaginians have finally gotten off their lazy asses and started conquering something (in this case: Iberia). So those crazy Spaniards will be occupied.

And last, but not least: The warzone in Syria.

I've expanded slowly, but steadily southwards. With a lot of help from my elephants. Hierosolyma was a thorn in my eye, because the Egyptians were constantly launching attacks from there, so after a while I conquered it. Meaning they have to travel from far away to attack me. The Seleucids on the other hand, kept attacking me from Damascus. I gathered my best troops and marched to Damascus for something that is now known as 'the bloodbath of Damascus'. It was an intense battle, the Seleucids kept fighting on every corner, even when elephants were raging down on them. I won the city by the narrowest of margins.

    That's it for now.
