Question regarding trait gain

In vanilla when a church is competed the governor gets a piety and chivalry bonus. Things like this don't seem to be happening in TLR for me. I tried training priests but it doesn't seem to do anything either. Is this normal?

Hmmm.. In my game, I do get piety bonuses, via the "religious" trait line when I train priests or build churches. However, it should be noted that the extra piety isn't a guaranteed thing that happens all the time. Every time a church or trained priest in completed, you get a certain % chance of a govener getting an increase in piety. You could just be.. very unlucky so far.

It's also possible that you picked up a few other traits that quickly counteract your piety gain ("silly beliefs", for example) so it doesn't seem like your actually gaining anything.

It's also possible that your goveners already have a maxed out "religious" trait line. If that is the case, then no matter how many more priests you train or churches you build, you won't be getting any more piety bonuses.
