thoughts after 1st LtC 2.3 with 1.2 campaign

French, with VH/VH setting.

money was a little tight however i was able to make alliance with most neighbors , so that bought me peace for the first 30 turns or so.

by 30 turn my eco was very good with 4-5 captured rebel state and trade routes and max merchant count. trading silk at Constantinople.

HRE decides to betray me, which lead to their demise very quickly lost all their norther Europe holding to me and only Balogna left in south. Milan, English, Poland, and Portuguese attacked me in that order after that. Milan and Portugal got wiped out. English became my vassal, and Poland lost to 2 province. now it's the 1200 something. i have 34 regions with the crusade to go to to full fill my 35th region and holding jerusilum condition.

hmm.. i never played the french. but it seems this is pretty easy even with LtC, in fact i dont' feel LtC is more challenging with the late eco than vanilla. ... i have currenlty 200,000 with about 20,000 income per turn,

maybe just the french then..... let me try the byzantine. who's suppose to be lot harder..

Oh yeah, you'll have a serious challenge as the Byzantines. Particularly if you play with the earlier House rules and sit tight until ~1160 and let diplomatic relations auto-deteriorate under H or VH.

It's 1265, and I'm slowly losing southern islands (Rhodes and Crete) to the Venetians and Egyptians while massing all my battered forces in the NE to prepare for the final wave of Mongols (I've beaten 7 stacks, 1 stack is besieging Sofia and waiting to starve them out, and the last 4 stacks are rolling towards Bran and Bucharest). The rest of my empire is completely denuded to supply the front and hold against the Mongols, so the Venetians and Hungarians are waltzing in with full stacks from the W.

If I can just hold against this last wave of Mongols, I can turn around and take it to the Hungarians and Venetians. But I'm teetering on defeat if the Mongols starve out Sofia and the Turks decide to reengage from the east (where I have skeleton militias holed up in border forts).

It's fun though!

I think Lusted took the money script out of 2.3 and if so it's not surprising it's easy.

hmm... lusted say play on M or H since the eco model is hard.... no?

well at least as french it's every bit as easy.... battle and campaign. on vh/vh
