Default Real Combat and some more...

Hy there Torn and acegogo, thanks for the hard work you guys are having to make this incredible mod.

    Just some ideas...

Firs of all, is Real Combat a good mod to use with TLR? I heard it greatly improves combat and such

Second, armor system is a bit strange right now, when you upgrade a unit, it only gets 1 point of armor, so, an italian spear militia, who starts with padded armor, has in fact a bigger armor value than a standard spear militia with a heavy mail

And another thing, some units are appearing too early. Take for example the Spanish Sword and Buckler men, the in fact have a steel cuirass but you can have them when you have light mail.

And the wors idea of all, can you make an infantry unit which has several kinds of weapons? (like swords, axes and maces in the same unit?) I thought this is how it worked in medieval times...

Thx in advance and keep up the good work

Real Combat is a great mod and PointBlank has done a fine job with it.
I definately watch what he does often and take cues from his findings. That said, I have implemented a system that in some ways similar to that system.
The exception is that I attempt to balance animation delays exactly. By doing this, anyone can glance a unit card and understand the relative strength of a unit. It also helps balance AutoResolves.
You could attempt to add PointBlank's mod, but now without quite a bit of work.

Starting with the next version, there will be a Renaissance event controlling the appearance of units dressed as such.

I've seen an advanced modder who can do modeling make a unit with different weapons. The issue is that they use the same animation. I probably won't be getting into that for the foreseeable future.

The armor system is in my opinion a huge bug/limitation of the current engine.
In fact, the problem is it's just plain wrong and misleading. So are weapon upgrades.

Weapon upgrades have been shown and described to use by CA to have an effect of 6! This is quite different from the 1 shown on the UI.

Thanks for the quick answer Torn

So, if you left as it was before, when everyone with a light mail had an armor value of 2, but decreased attack values, wouldn't battles last longer and you would still have equal armors for everyone? I loved the idea that every guy with a light mail, be it from upgrade or not, would have the same armor value

But if that would mean that some guy with a knife would kill my plated armored knight, so forget it

And yes, I forgot the animations, but if they all had the mace, or axe animation, wich are pretty much generical (i guess), so it wouldn't look so ugly when fighting, and lovely to see on the battlefield
