Bizarre Tribute
Im just wondering if anyone else has had this happen as it seems a bit weird.
I was basically playing along as Sparta quite happily, conquered Athens and was invading Macedon. As I normally do I had sent off diplomats all over the place to go get trade rights and stuff. Anyway I had this diplomat standing around in Lydia with nothing much to do. I thought why not just ask them for a bit of money so I demanded 100 denarii, there was no reason for them to give me this, I was no where near them with an army they were pretty big, we were neutral etc... So then they counter-offer and say actually we'd like to give you 343 denarii. I thought oh thank you very much and accepted and then they gave a big grovelling, we thankyou for accepting our offer thing.

Re: Bizarre Tribute
I've had this in Europa Barbarorum as well. I was playing as Epeiros and tried to sell my map info to the Koinon Hellenon. They said no thanks, but would prefer to give me a gift of 2,500 Mnai. The next turn they gave me another gift. The weird thing was that the turn after that they attacked me!

Re: Bizarre Tribute
Probably should have gave them a gift back, that usually keeps them from attacking... the greeks love the trojan horse trick

Re: Bizarre Tribute
But I didn't see the point in their gift! I just used it to train troops to crush them.
