There is a new installer in the Download section now. It's only 144mbs, tested, and works perfectly. It will start the batch file for you...you almost don't have to do anything.

If you are having issues with RS1.10, this is now the only supported installer. Download it and reinstall
over a current install and it will fix any issues with the Mod itself. If it doesn't, then there is something wrong with your RTW install...or you did not follow instructions.

Always make sure you install RTW from a CLEAN, unscratched or marred CD. This alone will cause you grief.

I just installed the same patch with it again. and no more problems
The new patch does have new stuff on it.
like the border thing and turn options which are very cool and helpfull.
I still like the 0 turn gives you a more feel of lots of stacks fighting an arny.

I think you were right about my disk being damaged dvk. i installed this and am still encountering the ctd w/the sword hoplites. next time i go to walmart or target, i might purchase another copy of rtw.

As I suspected, swhunter.....you were missing something in your install. Glad it's fixed. I think this installer will help fix other people's issues as well.

As for CD damage, yeah, easily done, and the most common cause of bad installs. My recommendation, if you have enough hard disk space, is to install RTW, patch it to 1.3, 1.5. Play it a bit and make sure it works good. And then copy it to another folder or even a DVD just to save it. Then next time you need an install, just delete the old one and copy the one you saved into the same folder. And Presto! New working install. This is the way I have 10 installs of RTW and BI on my system.

And while you're at it, icydawgfish, just buy RTW-BI. The AI is much better if you run RS with the BI exe.

that's what i have is the gold edition. i used to own the vanilla version, but i gave it away to a friend. and w/the gold, it automaticly is at ver 1.3 when u install it.

Gold is automatically at 1.5 not 1.3.

I've been told that apparently some early copies of Gold were actually 1.3. IIRC you need to go to options to see which version you're running.

That is NOT correct. Look in the downloads section. Version 1.10a is old.

Read the last line of the first post because you aren't installing it correctly there's no problem with the installer. Please post issues in the technical forum.

Could someone please lock this thread so we aren't encouraging posts outside of the technical forum.
