Default How to add units to RTRP?

    Hi,

I was wondering if there is a guide or website that overviews the process necessary to add units into the game. I ran into some problems when merging some units with the MNM and would like to know how to do it the right way. I guess the presence of 3 different Data folders threw me! Thanks.

Thanks for the article, it helps a lot.

Just a thought: If I'm running the MNM and replace the Vanilla RTW Data folder with the extended realism mod Data folder, then insert the proper references in the MNM Data folder, the units should show up right?

I wish I could just play the MNM as is, but I can never go back after playing the Extended Realism mod's system for the Romans. What a great mod; merging it with MNM would be the ultimate!

    Thanks again.

MNM is metro naval mod, right? AFAIK its latest version has some features that are in the Extended mod too. Plus, I`m not sure what you want to do. You want to merge the two mods or jsut take some units from Candelarius`s mod and place them in MNM? If it`s the former it`s a lot of work. If it`s the later you need to be more exact. But the thing is that Macedonn might have reached the limits in MNM regarding units and you might have to delete some of them to put in others. This being more complicated.

Yeah, it would be the latter; just adding some units in. Im looking to add the italian units(italian hastati, marsi spearmen, so on), so that I can recreate the gameplay on the Italian peninsula. I would also like to add the Prometheius skins pack if possible. Funny thing is that Macendon's descrip_region already has many of the same hidden resources that the extended realism mod uses, like aor_samnite or aor_marsi.

Also, 1 other quick thing. Is there a way to limit the building of local missile + cavalry units once the final stage of barracks + admin buildings is completed? Im mainly trying to weed out the use of Italian skirmishers + cavalry once Roman citizenship is give to a town. I couldnt figure it out when looking over the export_descript_ buildings.

    Thanks!
