Marian Reforms
Is there a way to manually trigger Marian reforms through the console?

Re: Marian Reforms
It`s hardcoded and it can`t be modded that easy. Not like changing a date or a condition in a text file I mean. The only way that I know is via scripting. Maybe others know more, but it`s not something one can easily do unfortunately. But, what was your aim? To get it quicker rather then later? All the fuss around it usually happens because people either want it to happen later or at a fix date. If you want it earlier it shouldn`t be hard to do. You basically need to build an imperial palace outside Rome IIRC(haven`t played with the romans in ages). Of course this is presuming you are playing with the romans.

Re: Marian Reforms
Yeah I'd like it earlier, I don't think I've ever played a TW game as long as I'd have to to get them.
I thought it was a bit more than building an Imp. Palace outside Rome, but maybe I've gotten confused with EB. Thanks for the help.

Re: Marian Reforms
Ok, but come to think of it, this is in RTRPE`s sub-forum. You know you won`t get lorica segmentata legionaries or praetorian cohorts and such, right? A number of people raise towards the reforms thinking at the vanilla RTW cool romans and in RTR there are only the regular and the aquila legionaries....

Re: Marian Reforms
Just keep Capua governed at all times. Enslave Tarentum, Croton, and the Sicilian cities as you conquer them. You'll have an imperial palace started in the 260's.
But think on this....the game is easy enough with the Hastati/Principe/Triari line of troops. Do you really want to make it harder on the other factions so soon? I personally delay these reforms until the 220's at the earliest. I simply don't build an Imperial palace in Italy. I play on VH/VH and I still dominate the battlefield with my pre-Marian troops.

Re: Marian Reforms
[let it be noted that I'm searching the forum during a bout with insomnia...]
I was expecting a lot more with the Marian Reform on RTR Gold, and when it happened, I WAS PISSED!!! I had so many awesome, near invincible vets...only to realize..that...that...they had to be killed off in battle, or retire...
I CAN'T TAKE THE PAIN! THE PAIN! OH GOD....
Yeah, that was kind of a downer for what you get with the Legionaries. Is it any different with Plat 1.9?
