    Default No diplomacy?

    Hey there,
Just installed the mod, and the two things I notice immediately are:
    a) In diplomacy, I no longer have any diplomatic options. The big box where offers are normally made are just empty. Similarly, when a foreign diplomat contacts me, they are making an offer, but there is .
A bunch of the other label descriptions also seem empty.

    b) Merchants no longer tell me how much they will earn from a resource by mousing over. Really frustrating, you no longer have a way to evaluate which resources to get.

Are these intentional? Known bugs? Or is there something weird in my installation/setup?

He's right. Just re-install over a clean version.

    Reinstalled, works fine.

While the map is cool, it seems that the AI is way too passive to be able to handle it; as England I could conquer all of England, half of Ireland and half of France and the Low Countries without any conflict or competition from foreign powers. The AI keeps sieging settlements and assaulting them and failing; lots of the settlements had damaged walls and depleted garrisons because of unsuccessful AI assaults.

    Passive? Really?

I'm currently playing as Spain, year 1145, and I'm being attacked by the French, the Moors and the Byzantines, and now also Hedjaz and Armenia.

I have taken Zaragoza, Valencia, Navarre and finally Barcelona in Spain, and Benghazi in Africa and Jerusalem. The Byz keep attacking Benghazi, and Hedjaz keeps attacking Jerusalem, now Armenia has joined the fight.

Apparently Hedjaz and Egypt are fighting for domination in the Middle East, while Armenia and the Turks are fighting further north.

Portugal and the Moors at constantly at war, the Moors have lost all but Cartagena in Spain. Portugal took almost every spanish region from the Moors, but the lost many to rebellions, very nice!

Money is very short because of the wars, but it's fun!

I was quite shocked when i turned off FOW to see who had expanded where
Sicily are very aggressive attacking Tunis taking regions that Venice or Byz should take such as Duazzo , They even took Malta which I thought was good
Moors and Mali both expanded Egypt was also very aggressive and even Sweden had taken a few , this is much more aggressive than the 1.1 patch
although I agree the England /Scotland and Ireland seemed to be slow getting started , same goes for denmark and hungary which used to attack fast.
If you put campaign difficulty up to Hard that should help.

In my game as Spain, year 1220's,

the Irish have killed of the English and entered northern France.

Denmark and Milan have expanded at the expense of the HRE who now only hold Prague, Nuremburg and 1 or 2 other regions.

France consists of what is more or less modern France.

Sicily had taken Tunis but lost it to the Moors. Egypt and Hedjaz share the Middle East up to Tripoli and Damascus. Further north Armenia still holds its starting regions but also hold Antioch and Aleppo. The Georgians have expanded south, they actually took Baghdad but lost it to rebellion.

The Byzantines are also doing ok, but the Turks seem a bit squeezed between Georgia, the Byz and Georgia. The Mongols have just arrived so Georgia is heading for hard times.

I, the Spanish, have just take Granada, Cordoba, Cartagena and Badajoz from Portugal, so now they only have Faro, Lisboa, Oporto and the Oviedo castle.

That sounds interesting that Georgia takes Baghdad but loses it to rebellion
What you say about Turks , I was concerned that if the Turks AI was not good enough that they may get squeezed & wiped out before 1453 because of all the enemies
that wouldnt be good would it ,
When I play I dont want my campaigns to play out exactly as history but the factions I would like them to behave and expand similar
in the first version 1.0 of MTW2 denmark always made a mad rush towards france but never even tried to take Stockholm or Oslo

Ireland have destroyed England thats never happened , maybe these inconsistency in AI could be good as it adds replay value with the AI surprising us

What happens to Sweden and Scotland in your game

I don't know about Sweden and Scotland as I haven't turned off FOW, I just send spies and get map info.

I'm not sure about the Turks, but in an other campign as Egypt, the Turks were doing fine, they were fighting the armenians and the Byzntines.

Am I supposed to get Dismounted Chiv. Knights in the 1150 - 1200s? I can also build a Citadel in Toledo and get Feudal Knights. Is that right? It seems a bit early to me,I thought it was in the 14th century, maybe I wrong.

It does seem early , I never got that far with Spain , I think I recall getting Feudal Knights around that time with another faction.
Maybe some of the Darth entrys are left in , DarthAI added extra dismounted Chiv/feudals for many factions , luckily all the entries are tagged with :darth so easy to check

After reinstalling 2.4 I tried a game with the Byzantines. You once asked if the Turks would be destroyed by Armenia, Byz, and Georgia, the answer is no, they're doing fine.

    In my latest game:
Armenia expands south, taking Antioch and Aleppo, sometimes Edessa. They expand until they reach the Egyptian border, usually at Tripoli and Damancus.

Georgia (might be a bit strong) take Trebizond, Malazgirt and continue to expand north until they reach the Cumans.

Hedjaz (too strong?) are constantly at war Egypt. Egypt seems to suffer from the Crusades and the wars with Hedjaz.

Meanwhile the Turks have taken Smyrna and Laoedica (sp?) and are still holding their starting regions, except Malazgirt.
