    Default Vardariotai?

Ok, I was confused in my earlier thread. My question is what happened to these guys in this mod? Do they exist only at higher levels because in vanilla they were available very early. Or have they been pulled?

I'll also add that taking them out or pushing them back unbalances the game a bit on the bad side for the Byzants. The Byzants don't get the equivalent of Feudal infantry until much later than the Western factions - it's very easy to have face them with crappy Byzant spearmen, spear/town militia early on. The Vardariotai were the only decent Byzant unit you could get early on. I think they are needed to keep you from dying from feudal knight spam by Venice.

If you're going to take them out, the Byzants need to be able to produce Byzant infantry or dismounted Lancers earlier. Either the requirements need to be lower or they need a castle with some higher level buildings early on when the game is set up. It's hard to fight the feudal knights of Venice with what you have early on.

Grifman, ur exactly right!!!!! This part was also my problem.. turks is spaming me with good units and venice is spaming me with LOADS of feudal knights, basically the only solution i found out of this is -> Corinda (think i spelled it wrong, it's the castle down there for the byzantium ), don't build anythiing else, keep building everything there is in that place.. took me 30 turns of bankrupcy, but.. i did it, then i just SMASHED venice and destroyed their damned pitiful country, i have screenshots in the screenshot thread...

+rep for me if you agree with me , i might give it right back to you

    Hi Grifman,

You need to have the highest level of Stables to recruit the Vardariotai, since they are the best byzantine cavalry.
The vanilla building tree of byzantine cavalry units was a bit illogical Imo, so I changed it slightly...
