    Default My mini mod for DLV 3.1

    Well,i have made yet another fix.This fix is for the pikemen.I wanted to use ramtha`s idea to fix them, but i wanted to keep the phalanx option for the pikemen,so i made a bit of investigation and i found a way,to fix the pikemen without disabling the phalanx option.This basicaly fixes the pikemen so they will be more effective,the fix for the gunpowder units is also included.
    You can find it here http://hosted.filefront.com/Rodissy/ along with the `Metropolis Resource`,the instructions for instaling it are the same.(the `Metropolis Resource` fix is named DLV_3.1_quick_fix_2.rar)
    Instructions:
    -Have M2TW installed
    -Have official 1.2 patched
    -Have DLV 3.1 installed
    -unzip,copy and paste the export_descr_unit to your \DLV_ext\data,overwrite when you are asked.
    -Try a custom battle in the Late era,with pikemen and musketeers,and tell me what do you think,but before that go into custom battles,and test a pikemen unit,attack another unit with the pikemen,and you will see the BIG change,and also,attack with a pikemen unit another unit without the phalanx.

    I sorta tried it, lol tell you the truth I been doing that for all the mod.
    I always love it, much faster then rank and effective.

    Thanks for making it though. I'm sure others will like it too
    if they don't reply that mean that are enjoying it too much. lol

    I have also made a quick fix for the annoyng `metropolis resource` so you can upgrade all your cities to huge cities.

    I cant really install the tweak-file, you see, I have modded the units myself so that all misile-troops is Much stronger than usual. It took some time, and now, I cant really paste this file cause then all my other changed will be gone.
    Is there an easy way to get your tweak installed, and still keep those changed I have made?

    Yes.You should open your export_descr_unit with notepad,then go to edit then to `find`and type in fire_by_rank,then click `Find Next` and it will automaticly finds a gunpowder unit with the `fire_by_rank` attribute,so you must delete every `rank_by_fire` attribute from every unit,just click find next,then you delete the rank_by_fire from X and then you click again the Find Next button until it will not find anymore `rank_by_fire`,and its done.Be carefull to leave the same space between the attributes else you will get a ctd or somthing,it will take you about 2min to solve this.Tell me if you succeded.

    I did what you said, and now the M2TW wont even start!
    It just reach the first loading screen, and then quit to the deskop!

    No you haven`t.Il explain one more time:
    You have to be carefull,you have to leave the same spacing between the attributes for example
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, very_hardy, can_withdraw,
    see the spacing between the attributes
    attributes sea_faring, hide_forest, very_hardy, can_withdraw,
    its not like this: sea_faring,hide forest,very_hardy,can_withdraw it should always be space like this: (after you delete a attribute) !They must not stick to togheter under any circumstances!
    sea_faring, hide_forest, very_hardy, can_withdraw,
    Now go back to the export_descr_unit and look at all gunpowder units to correct the spacing of all attributes.Im sure you forgot to leave the same amount of space between attributes after you deleted the fire_by_rank attribute.

    I can tell you right away that the Quick Fix 2, is causing my game to crash...

    As far as the Quick Fix 1, the Desc_unit, I have just double checked it all, there is no wrong spacies in it. I tried to put in the "fire_by_rank" command in the places I had deleted it, but the game still wont start!

    Ok, have found the problem...

    When I installed your building fix, it caused the crash. That was why I thought it was the unit_file that was bugged.
    When I then changed the building_descr back, I overwrote it with the DLV 3.0 version, while the Unit_descr was from the DLV Bugfix 3.
    So, the two versions couldnt work with each other. It was first here now I discovered the mistake and changed the building file to the one from Bugfix 3.

    I try to change the fire_by_rank now, I let you know how it went...

    That "gibberish" is some encrypted code that WinRar uses. It was kinda humorous seeing that sad smiley face (or rather a sad face) within the mess.

    Your problem is that you need to download and open the "RAR" file with WinRar.

    this sometimes happens, if you use firefox. try to open the link using Internet Explorer - that should solve your problem.
