    Default Napoleonic Mod for M2TW now?

    Hi, just wondering if that now, with the MESH format being unlocked and everything, gj GOM , that there could be a Napoleonic Era mod being made with a campaign and custom battles too, unlike the others for Rome Total War. Also, patch 1.2 automatically makes all gunpowder units set to 'stand and fight' instead of skirmish, which prevented the mods NTW1 & 2 from having custom battle and campaigns.

    someone has to make one, I can help out in anyway

    The Lordz aren't going to make one, they are making their own game now. I would definetly play a Nepoleonic mod though.

    I was just going to pose this question myself. I would really like a Napoleonic era mod done, and I'd be willing to help as a historian.

    Yeah and making many new gunpowder units shouldn't be too troublesome since we can use the musketeer, arquebusier and sudanese gunners' models as bases.
    I'd sure like to play a mod like this...

    Why don't we start a mod then? I guess we could considering there are a few of us that would help. I can skin and model and maybe do some scripting, but it's a no no for mapping and the other stuff

    I have Imperial Glory so I can get texture ideas for that, especially the green rifle regiments

    Tell me what you guys think, with mappers and coders I suppose this should be no trouble...

    Until Lordz will release their game, you can still play Fields of Glory, the complicated but awesome game at matrix.

    Just been looking at the lordz website, is the game they are making totally different from the total war series or are they using the engine as a base? cause that can't be legal

    They're working with Slytherine studios and using their game engine.

    Er, the problem with skirmishing, can't the attribute "start_not_skirmish" be added in EDU to stop the problem of skirmishing gunpowder troops?

    No, it only makes the unit notwith skirmish mode turned off, but i the AI can always turn it on again. I suppose this could be changed in battlr_config.xml.
    Not very sure though...

    You need to remember that there are two sets of Lordz now.

    The original Lordz are making a Napoleonic conversion for Take Command 2nd Manassass, and extending NTW2 with new factions.

    The break-away Lordz have formed their own games company and are making a commercial game based on the Slytherine 3D engine.

    What would be cool would be a map from maybe India to To the West coast of the US, and a mod ranging from 1775 to maybe 1850 or so.

    You'll still face the same problems the Lordz faced with R:TW, the AI doesn't work and the campaign doesn't work.
    Anyways, good luck with this, I'd be sure to check it out
