Default Any way to make family memeber "immortal"?

Well, is there a way to make a family member not age?
I find it quite annoying that until I get my self a worthy family member he dies after about 25 turns.

There is a certain script that makes all the faction members immortal. So it is possible.
However,as far as I'm concerned there isn't a way to make for only a specific family member such as a faction leader or faction heir.

You have to obtain the Holy Grail from a city while crusading.

    1-Go to your

    programfiles/SEGA/medieval2/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign
    directory.

2-Find there the file called :"campaign_script.txt"
    3-
Enter the file with doubleclicking on it and open it by notepad.
4-Find these lines with ctrl+f at the close to the top:

    ; ---------------------
    ; start up

    freeze_faction_ai aztecs

    ;----------------------

5-You should type just below freeze_faction_ai aztecs :

freeze_faction_ai poland(if you are playing with poland)

6- Save and exit the file.

Of course to make the changes effective your medieval2.preferance.cfg file in your programfiles/sega/medieval II total war directory should contain the lines:

    [io]
    file_first = true

Now you're diplomats, agents family members all the members of your faction will be immortal.Be warned though it has its sideeffects, you may not be able to move your characters and agents sometimes.

    EDIT:Sorry Double Post

An alternative method, which I use for all my campaigns so as to create more notable characters on the strat map, is to edit the values such as the max 'death', 'retirement', 'disgrace' etc. values for characters. They will still age, but generally reset to age 0 after about between 100-300 years, continuing in this cycle for however long you play.

Be sure to make a backup copy when you play around with any files, If you want to avoid reinstalling the game if something goes wrong that is.
