Yeah happens every time - though you can get around it by attacking the catapult unit and winning the battle (though obviously if you only have fairly weak forces yourself you might well end up losing some troops anyway...).

You mean it happens in every city you try? Do you have more than one unit in the garrison? If so, do all units die when you hit Esc?

I've worked out why it was happening (though not why my own forces were disappearing as well). Basically since the script takes a few seconds to run I had been pressing the escape key a second time since it didn't seem to be doing anything and then exiting the battle using the ui. Pressing it once and then waiting lets the script finish successfully.

Didn't you get a warning message that you'd lose the battle?

I did but I hadn't actually been reading it

What was throwing me actually was the fact that in your instructions you mention clicking on End Battle to view the results, but the results come up automatically.

No they don't, you get the message that you won the battle which also asks you if you want to continue chasing them down. Only after you click end battle, you'll be taken to the results scroll.

I've just tested it again and it definitely goes straight to the results, after all the script kills all of the enemy so there shouldn't be anybody to chase down...

    Little Legionaire

I've uploaded the required files here. Just unzip it into the landstoconquer\data folder.

Whilst I was doing this I found out why I was going straight through to the results when I pressed escape. Bizarrely if the camera is restricted you go straight to the results and if it's unrestricted you get asked if you want to chase down the remaining forces...

By copying the needed sections from Oppida following the instructions in the readme, replacing the cities in the campaign script, and changing the PostBattle triggers so they don't trigger unduly.

    Hi, Alpaca!

My problem is a little too private

I've been using Oppida for a long time and it worked like a charm until today I modified the export_buildings.txt.strings.bin file.

    Things are like this:
    1) I added a new building so of course I added the description for the new building in export_buildings.txt.strings.bin.

    2) I started a grand campaign. New building worked fine, so did new descriptions for it. And battle map is also ok. I can fight battles manually without problems. But when I run your script, clicking Show Me How caused a CTD. All other scripts such as Klink's garrison scripts worked fine.

    3) I deleted the new building entry in export_descr_buildings.txt but keeps the modified export_buildings.txt.strings.bin. The result is the same as 2).

    4) I deleted the modified export_buildings.txt.strings.bin. Everything is fine then.

So, the problem must lie in the modified export_buildings.txt.strings.bin and your scripts. Do you have any idea why this happens?

Oh, I forgot to mention I'm using Opidda 1.1.

No idea, Oppida doesn't change anything building-related. Did you try a siege battle in the campaign?

Alpaca, did I thank you yet for this wonderful little script?

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude greater than
the animating contest for freedom, go
home from us in peace. We seek not
your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch
down and lick the hand that feeds you,
and may posterity forget that ye were
    our countrymen."

I don't think so, but then again I have a chronically bad memory

No, the peasants aren't in M2TW. The view settlement feature was hardcoded into the game for RTW but removed in the successor.

No, because there's nothing to walk them through the city.

Hi alpaca, is Oppida compatible with Stainless Steel 5.1?

So can I install this mod on SS?
