    Icon4 Azureus help

So, one of my mates made a huge home-video and he uploaded it as a torrent. Downloaded Azureus, downloaded bout 3.5GB, had 1.0 GB left.

Then suddently, when I opened my computer and booted Azureus to resume, it loaded, stalled for about 3-4 secs and then crashed. No matter how I did it, every time was the same.

Checked the Troubleshooting and FAQ, no answer. I installed Azureus Vuze, but when I tried to open a torrent, the same thing happens!!!

    Can anyone PLEASE help me?

Uninstall Azureus and Java and install both again, you might also try some different version of Java. Usually works for crashes. Not guaranteed though.

Make sure you have enough (virtual) RAM.
If you don't have enough RAM you can't load such large files.

And Azureus is very slow and instable, utorrent is much better IMO.
It nothing works you could try using utorrent instead, you might even be able to continue the download if you start a new torrent, then close utorrent, replace the new (empty) file with the 3.5GB file, and the re-start utorrent.
utorrent will check the file before continuing, so there is little risk of damaging the file.

    Yep. Azureus sucks.

And it is actually µTorrent not uTorrent. BitComet is also good.

I know, but I there is no (copy-paste) µ on my keyboard, and utorrent has become an acceptable alternative way of writing it.
The official url is also utorrent.com and not µtorrent.com

Uninstalled Azureus and Java. Reinstalled them both. Now it works like a charm.

Never had problems with Azureus, though I haven't tried any other so I can't compare.

The only real problem I have with Azureus is it's speed. (or rather lack of it).
I have a fast internet connection (10Mbit/sec in both directions) but I never managed to reach more than 500KB/s download speed with Azureus simply because the software couldn't keep up with the data stream.

And just forget about running Azureus is the background while playing a game or watching a movies.

    uTorrent is completely different.
I hardly even notice it, even when it's pumping 1MB/s in both direction and I'm playing Oblivion at the same time.

So you think I should change? I must agree with the speed, some times it's slow, but that could depend on seeds.
