Default How can I test my graphics cards power?

Is there any software that i can download and install which tests the speed of my card and or the rest of the parts of my computer that determine how well a game runs?

What's your specs? That's actually on the super low side. I have a pretty good rig and can push close to 12000, but 24419 is the current best out there I think.

spartan, are you talking 12k 3dmark06?

That is ridiculously high (presuming you're running at a decent resolution)

Yes I have hit nearly 12k (11,950). I used the default settings, haven't messed with it enough to do anything beyond that.

I spent £900 on a new tower 3 months ago so if its a low score then I will be very anoyed if its a low score.

    The computer is:

    Dual pentium 2.66ghz, 2mb cache
    ASUS P5V VM DH
70gb 10k RPM hardrive + 230gb quite fast hard drive
    2GB OCZ platinium
X1350 radeon (bizarly its labeled as a x1650 - although In was told this would be the case).

I was told that a x1950 was over kill and as I got a good deal for my last comp and have bought other things from the shop in between computers I took the guys word for it.

How much difference would getting the same card and crossfiring them actully make?

Also how much difference would replacing the card with a x1950 actullly make?

x1350 is crap. I can't believe that computer cost you £900.. Replacing that card with an x1950 would make a HUGE difference if you have enough power.

Its got a 550 watt power supply - can that take another X1350 (which would be allot cheaper than getting a x1950) or a x1950?

It was 3 months ago and prices have probably droped 10% since then + labour costs so its not a bad deal just not a very good deal. Also If you are from the US - the prices are generaly higher in the UK.

You spent £900 on that junk? God your second person around here that's been ripped off inside of two weeks, seriously that really is bad value for money. Who ever told you the X1950 would have been overkill is either a con artist or barely has enough intelligence to tie a shoe lace.

Go and find the thread about "how much did you computer cost" (or words to that effect) thread and find out what you could have got.

    I got;
    • E6600
    • Sapphire X1950XTX
    • 2GB Corsair DDR2 800MHz RAM (2x1 sticks)
    • MSI Platinum 975X motherboard.
    • 650W PSU.

for little over nine hundred pounds... in October! Although to be fair I didnt buy a case, DVD drive or hard disk, but it was 8 months ago. By now prices have went down so much that I could add a hard disk, DVD drive and case to that and still pay under 900 pounds.

As I said I haven't spent enough time with program to really test my rig. I was using it to test performance differences while I was oc'ing. My score @ Default, res 2560x1600 (7161)...

AFAIK, if you want to play M2TW on mostly high settings with a smooth frame rate, you shouldn't get anything less than an x1950... also, getting a second x1350 would most likely not be worth it...

ahh, well that's where your money went then mate, on that Raptor

And yeah, it is kinda annoying how they get the same stuff in the states for significantly cheaper than what we'd have to pay here, means that even our custom built rigs are more expensive.

How's that raptor anyway? Do you think it was worth the money performance wise?
