    Default CTD variations

    you might wanna check out sumthing. i noticed it while using the instant build commands and came across it.

    to bring it up play as england, and max out all building on york. make it a castle, use add_population York 2000, until you get 18000 population then process_cq York, untill all buildings are complete.

    then go to the unit menu and right click on various units to get details up. click on the Cog several times. u may get it first time and the screen goes wrong, or it will CTD or after a while you end up with corrupted screen and then CTD later.

    but this is a nasty bug which shouldnt do that even if using these commands. its likely it will happen eventually.

    I'll try to duplicate it, thanks.

    just confirmed it. it doesnt like ships. when you click on a sjhip in recruit menu the game corrupts and CTD

    further confirm that it only happens on a right click. therefore the problem is related to the details of the unit. or only the ship for as far as i can tell.

    it happens the same with all cities, and may happen with all factions.

    im going to test it with an already built ship, and then test it in combat.

    the problem does not occur when checking the details of an already built ship. nor is there a problem with the battles.

    this leave the problem solely in the recruitment menu when checking the details of any ships

    an unconfirmed test is that this effect might only happen at certain stages of buildings.

    for example, a single test has shown that the selecting of details on ships within a large city do not cause CTD, whereas a huge city and the final stages of dock building have show CTD. im gonna test this again with castles and then again with each stages of a city.

    Could this be a 1.02 patch bug? I haven't changed anything with the English, or with cogs in SV 2.0.

    Does this happen in your vanilla game?

    it does seem odd doesnt it.

    i couldnt find anything strange in the stats or text.

    there are some very strange values in your export_descr_buildings file though

    for example:

    recruit_pool "EE Crossbow Militia" 0 0.000001 0.999 0 requires factions { poland, serbia, russia, bulgaria, } and event_counter mongols_invasion_warn 1
    recruit_pool "S Archer Militia" 0 0.000001 0.999 0 requires factions { byzantium, }
    recruit_pool "ME Crossbow Militia" 0 0.000001 0.999 0 requires factions { moors, }
    recruit_pool "Saracen Militia" 0 0.000001 0.999 0 requires factions { egypt, turks, } and event_counter mongols_invasion_warn 1
    recruit_pool "Sabadar Militia" 0 0.000001 0.999 0 requires factions { timurids, }

    many of the units look like this. the numbers with large decimal points are causing these units to almost never be trained. why is there such a long delay between able trainings?

    Try Quicksaving a game and then load it up trice in a row. Completely messes up the game.

    follow this link to find an example of what a corrupted screen looks like when you check the details of a ship in the recruit menu. This also shows it happens all all other factions.

    can someone check to see this happens.

    to ensure detection right click on various ships and u'll see it.

    I have seen a similar problem when the 1.02 patch was installed over 1.01.

    Did you install 1.02 onto a fresh unpatched copy of MIITW?

    I tried it while at lunch, and I couldn't duplicate it.

    I'm sorry to say that i exactly have had this phenomen as well in the Early Era campaign with Sicily, i believe ca. 50 turns in the game ... and i thought it might have to do with my graphics-card or something non-game related (and this is still a possibility, i run a Core2Duo system and a pretty Ati card, and have all settings On and High/est, resolution is though only 1024x1280).

    However, the effect of that graphical glitch/errors (buttons, scroll-bar messed up) was that the game ctd'd in the end_turn if i remember correct.
    I saved and reloaded and as yet, never happens again.

    Perhaps, there might be something with the refered interface files/codes ...
