Taking command of AI reinforcements?

Is there any way to take control of my AI reinforcements so I can direct TWO armies during battle? Sick of my AI controlled general charging headlong into pikemen and voluntarily impaling themselves !

You can control the units involved from both armies by unclicking the checkbox next the AI computer icon at the battle menu.

Sometimes it worth leaving them on AI control if your total forces number more than 20 units or if you have a lousy general you wished to get rid of.

That should be possible, at the very least give some kind of orders to that crazy general.

I am having the same problem with reinforcements. Such as when they do arrive the crazy A.I. general will march them around a city instead of going through it. So my full army (lead by the king too) of reinforcement archers come to defend the city instead just marched and then sat at the oppisite corner of the battle outside the city, not even realizing that the city has very nice high walls to shoot from. So my weak millitia army just got wasted, I was so fed up I just exited the battle.

Is there something wrong , did I have to roll out the red carpet for them in order for the reinforcments to arrive and come into the city, whats with the cold shoulder.

Reinforcments should be able to recieve basic orders, such as dont charge attack yet and wait for the archers or ballista to stop firing, or take that hill, or get over here quickly, or follow this route.

Yes by un-checking the box beside the reinforcement army will allow control But not if you have a main army with 20 cards. The game as of now only allows a player to control 20 cards so your reinforcements will wait until one of your cards is totally dead or totally routs. The reinforcements move onto the field as men leave or die. The expansion I hear has made some changes to this. But as of now you can only control 20 cards.
