Moore smartly lets very articulate average Americans tell their personal horror stories at the hands of insurance companies. The film never talks down or baits the audience.

Well, I have no use for Michael Moore for the most part, but I might go see Sicko because I'm very interested in ideas on how to fix the US healthcare system. Of course, I still think flying people to Cuba for treatment is a total cheap shot, especially since I'm sure the average Cuban peasant is not going to get anywhere near the health services as a wealthy American. And that's before you factor in the whole PR factor and how Cuba's best doctors were probably called in to treat the "poor Americans who can't get help in their own country."

The embargo against Cuba is the most hypocritical BS the government currently has left in its policy. Anything that attacks it is a good thing. I dont see how we can deal with China which commits mass murder on its population yet Cuba is the one thats so "evil".

We did have an embargo on China, but it's so big and influential we just had to start dealing with them.

well when i saw Sicko in the title, i figured that was reffering to michael moore. it does sound like a bit of a step up from the hugely partison joke of his last movie. insurance companies have always been attacked tho, so i hope he doesn't think he's stumbled upon some new idea. i would only see it to see if he actually introduces some new ideas, or just exploits the 'horror stories'. and my hopes rn't too high.

I heard the movie doesnt offer many alternatives to the current, that would be agreeable to both liberals and conservatives, but i have heard that both liberals and conservatives are praising the movie, it sounds very interesting and like something everyone can relate to.

I think calling it a half-embargo is also a half-truth, its the biggest embargo we have against any nation.

I won't see his movie in the theaters. I might rent it or see it some other time if a friend gets it. I've never liked his movies. Bowling For Columbine had a chance to be a good movie but in the end it shoved his own left wing ideals down our throats. Fahrenheit 9/11 was utter trash in my view although I didn't really get to watch it so much as have a political argument with friends as I watched it. This new movie will be idiotic, I believe. He tries to make Cuba a great place where the healthcare is amazing. Hmm...perhaps he forgot that even Castro didn't have his Cuban doctors operate on him. I guess in summation, Michael Moore is too mixed up in trying to get in his talking points than actually giving an unbiased and good movie. Oh, and An Inconvenient Truth is gonna have a sequel I hear. It should be called, A Convenient Lie.

When Fahrenheit 911 came out Michael Moore said everybody was allowed to downloading his movies without paying.
Not sure if this offer still stands for his latest film though.

I personally wouldn't pay to see any of his movies, but I would download them for free, so that's what I'll do if it's allowed.
