It would be more historically correct I agree.....but of Normandy would continus until the game ends in the 1500's!

By the way Penzance was added by mean as the first new province, when I was learning to do it. My initial thought was to give the human player a reason to go down to the South West of England. Penzance was only added as a trade hub, when I had ideas to build trade hubs into it....it never eventuated

I will change this to Exeter, as this is more historical as suggested!

Indeed, which is why I got your point

Lucrezia...if you have a particular area of interest (i.e the correction for Croatia) please let me know.

I really only know of England, Scotland and France...so titles from that part of Europe are little or unknown for me.

Orriflame....Caen port is adjusted for you! Likewise if there is anything in England you would like adjusted let me know!

OK TW maps are strange so some guessing needed, yes? I think Zara (Zadar) needs move from 160,101 to 159,102 (so up one square). Port for Zara now is where nothing is so either move right next to Zara (where city is on map now), or maybe better move this port to 164,97 because that is city of Spalato (modern Split) and also lovely medieval town of Trogir.

Ragusa (Dubrovnik) is ok but port for Ragusa is now at 173, 91. Nothing there I think, so maybe move port to 171,92, which is Cavtat.

I think Iberia needs about 3 provinces..

    - Alentejo/algarve ¿maybe Coimbra? at south to let portugal room to growth
    - Toledo should be smaller and more south so we could get castille at the north part..
    -Granada should be much smaller
-Córdoba should be smaller too and then we get room to put Murcia, Almería or Badajoz

If there is no hard code limit on the number of provinces, it really would be great to have more in Spain (maybe the medieval university city of Salamanca (at 68, 92 maybe?) and Seville (64, 78... with 'port' Cadiz at 63, 74) and France (add Lille (at 111,135) , with port at Calais (111,141)... and Lyon (maybe at 119, 112? Hard to tell), as there are places where a great deal of conflict will usually happen.

@Naimad.........Thanks for the above suggestions...I like on the Vanilla map adding one more province to the area above called "Algarve".....what is the capital of this?

I will add at least 2 or 3 provinces to Spain in the Large Map being created and modified by dm04 currently when it's ready.

@oriflamme...thanks for the ideas....these will be looked at for the larger map...definitelty Lyon and Calais.

@lucrezia......I like those ideas.....can't move the Ragusa Port though...as this covers up a display error on the map....I think this has something to do with being the central mark where heights are measured....anyway you can't remove (waves on land)

    It was Silves,not Faro.
Silves (Chelb for the moors) was the Algarve capital and it was conquered in 1242.

Another map observation... I just noticed that the provinces containing both Antwerp and Bruges are both called 'Flanders'.

It might be better to call the one containing Bruges 'Flanders' and the one containing Antwerp 'Brabant' (and for priest agent reference, Brabant is an Archbishopric). The appropriate (and rather groovy) heraldry can be found here.

Another suggestion... make the city in Flanders Ghent (probably 117,143) and put the port where Bruges is. This will also give you a bit of room if you are going to add Lille & Calais or Arras & Calais or whatever and Calais

The Ghent/Bruges/Brabant stuff sounds good, I can do it with the big map as soon as it gets approved.

I have been pondering the map again as BR wanted some input... As TW maps are so stylised a certain about of 'interpretation' is required!

    England...

Carlisle needs to be much closer to the Scottish border (I would say it is currently where Penrith is), so suggest moving it to 100,166. The port (Morecombe/Lancaster area) is fine.

Warwick looks more like where Stoke-on-Trent or Stafford should be. Suggest moving it south a fair bit to 101,152

Nottingham is not quite right as it is too close to the coast (it is about where Lincoln should be). Suggest moving Nottingham to 104,155 (i.e into the centre of the country). Nottingham's port (Grimsby?) is fine.

Not sure what York's port is supposed to be (Scarborough?) but it would fill a nice empty bit of Northern England if the port was moved to 106,168 (the far more important Newcastle).

Rivers: the Severn, Thames and Ouse are about right (the Ouse should be a bit longer but as the end bit is covered in impassable forests, I do not think it matters much).

The River Trent however is significantly wrong as it should actually run south of Nottingham rather than heading up into the Pennines north of Leeds and on to almost Carlisle (!) as it seems to at the moment.

Instead of heading north at 106,161 (near York), it should kink south to run just south of Nottingham (by which I mean Nottingham at the location I suggest above, not as currently). Although it does run quite a bit further, it is starting to get smaller past Nottingham so I guess it should end one or two squares past the castle. Stick a ford crossing one or two squares down river to represent either Newark-on-Trent (one square) or Lincoln (two squares).

    Scotland...

Suggest removing Stranraer and replacing it with Glasgow at 97, 172 (and the existing port on the map is actually Stranraer!)

Edinburgh's port seems to be Dunbar... not sure what the best historical choice would be, might better it is was the Rosyth area but it would probably make the map too confusing so best leave it as it is now.

Suggest move Aberdeen's port (which seems to be Peterhead) to 103,177 (Dundee/Arbroath area)

If you are going to change the heraldry for Exeter replacing Penzance... the priest agent should be 'Chaplain of Rougemont Castle' (castle) or 'Bishop of Exeter' (town).
