Medieval Total War 2 Question
I was a big fan of the original Medieval Total War, and after upgrading my computer I was finally able to try out MTW2. Really like it, for the most part.
But there are a couple of features that were in MTW that I was wondering about in MTW2.
Can you still get access to special units by controlling certain provinces? You know, like having the province of Prussia let you raise slav warriors and having the province of Kiev let you raise heavy Steppe calvary?
I haven't seen it yet in MTW2, though I haven't finished a campaign yet. Is there possibly a mod that puts that in?

Re: Medieval Total War 2 Question
It is not on the game, but some mods are working to do that.

Re: Medieval Total War 2 Question
I know this is a terribly dated question that I asked some time ago, but I'm wondering if there has been any mods that add the feature I'm looking for?

Re: Medieval Total War 2 Question
Here you go
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=485
It features what your looking for. If your christian you get the biggest bonuses.
e.g. Stettin as england gives you Livonian Auxillaries. Jerusalem gives you Hospitallers, Templars etc.
NOTE: you need Kingdoms and 1.5 patch, so my suggestion is to get Kingdoms retail.

Re: Medieval Total War 2 Question
Thanks, and yes, I do have Kingdoms.
One more question -- I installed Stainless Steel Mod just recently.
Can I install the retrofit mod over it, or do I need a fresh install?

Re: Medieval Total War 2 Question
I think Stainless Steel mixes with your core files. Though i'm not sure.

Re: Medieval Total War 2 Question
Stainless steel creates its own folder in the mod folder , and so does retrofit too .
