ctd when purple romans help fight?

every time the purple romans help me fight it always does a ctd any reason why im very early in thye campaign about 6 years could this be fixed or u have any reasons why it does this i have installed every thing to your
guide lines.
im going to pause playing till it gets fixed or can be worked out thanks in advance.

Occasionally I get a CTD when attacking the SPQR armies. I think somethings wrong with them.

Hmm, shouldnt be, they are available in the Custom battles or atleast the Paretorians are. I have fought them several times and Never had CTD issues.

What system do you have new king?

When I DID spqr 6.2 I really tested the Units out in custom battles and also campaign with a saved game that allowed me to attack them. I didnt suffer any CTDs and could never reproduce the problem some people have with them. It could have something to do with ATI cards, but then who knows?

Send me a saved Game where you can fight the senate in campaign and I will test myself and See what happens. :-)

If I encounter it again, I'll send you the savegame. (Don't send the inquisition, but I've been taking a break from SPQR as you may have noticed). I fully intend to continue playing my campaign in a week or so. It's just my life is very busy, and I need to have long chunks of time to play SPQR. I can't just sit down and play a couple turns and then leave.

All I need is a saved game where you can attack the Senate. In my game I am not there yet. Then I can fight the senate and see what happens. Though is I recall, I did test this out before and didnt noticed any CTD issues.

Ok I will send you my current savegame. (it is version 6.2 by the way). But sometimes it has worked, I am not stuck in a ctd situation right now I don't think.

Well so far in testing I get NO CTD's, I'll keep testing but no issues. it just may be an issue of too much for the systems to handle. I have 2 full Senate armies attacking my 1 Legion in yourr saved game.

As I said, I wasn't stuck at a crash at the time. I will send you the savegame if I ever get stuck again.

I see, but the crash would be in the battle scene, they dont crash RANDOM meaning that IF there is a problem with the senate Models/sprites, skins. they will crash In the battle anytime those units are in the battle. Since I fight a Senate army or should I say 2 they were filled with the custom legions I made plus a few praetorians. There were no crashes and I lost the Battle. lol

Yeah I don't know why it was happening. It may have been a problem with the X850. The crash was during the loading screen time. It might not happen again, I'll just let you know if it does.

It happened to me in the early game, when I attacked a army of Gauls and the senate were reinforcements.

i thought the problem here is when the senate is still your ALLY, and they are a reinforcement army (hence 2 AI's on the battlefield), not when the senate is attacking you (only one AI and yourself)

Personally I dont think there is an issue. Everyone knows how picky RTW is with Graphics and CPU. It could be the Game CTDing because of those issues and not a problem with the units. Usually when there is a problem with Units, Sprites etc it should be duplicated if not then its a system issue with the engine.

Example is in testing custom Skins I have 8 AI factions fighting it out and no CTD's. lol

The Praetorians are a high Rez model, and some systems may choke with the HUGE armies coupled with reinforcements.

i found out the reason and i can now fight with the purple romans here.

you have to fight the prologue battle where you help the purlpe romans instead of putting first time play.

also when uninstalling rome tw you have to go and delete the whole folder not just going in the control panel and use add and remove folders as it leaves some data.

i think thats the reasons well i got it working so it must be.

the second could be a problem for any mod. You problem was most likely not a clean install.

You dont have to play the prologue at all just change in pref...first time play to false....the ctd sound like a graphic or hardware related problem.

I was fighting the senate army just for trying out with 3 full stacks if germans against 2 full stacks of senate armys in campign mode with huge unit amount. Got no ctd.....
