Default A public request to the Curator: the ballots

Very simple really: I would like to ask the Curator to phrase future polls in such a way that retaining the current situation is at the top of the ballot.
At the time of the vote, the proposal has the support of a few, whereas the present laws have passed a vote already. So, if one of these has to be at the top of the ballot, it seems obvious to choose the latter.

Why is this better? The Yes/No/Abstain method has been used here... well always, and has never been an issue. Changing it would possibly be messy, so it would need solid reasoning behind it.

Further, I think the current method is more logical. We have a proposal, do you like it? Things are normally done "Yes" then "No." Normally when polling people, the question is asked, in favor then against. It is generally the way things are done, do you have any reason to think the voters are better served by resversing this?

well I'd say I have given a reason to have the retention of the status quo as the first option. If your concern is that people expect the affirmative first, well then the question would have to be rephrased to

"do you want to reject this proposal?"
    yes
    no
    abstain

now that would confuse people I fear!

Hah, like this? No, your totally right about that being a bad idea. But I'm holding that since people expect the affirmative first, then we should do that. And I think people expect the affirmative first more than I care about placing the status quo above change.

We increased the threshold for bills to 66% in part to combat the prerogative towards the status quo. It may be a bit much to go an extra step. People would adjust though after a few bills but the first few would run very similar to the linked Ostracism.
