Roma Surrectum Wallpaper Thread

after i decided to make some more wallpaper for this nice modification, i think it's better to open only one thread here for all wallpaper, as for each one a thread!

this is my little tribute to the whole RS team for her nice work! i hope you like the wallpaper a little bit and some of you will also use it as desktop background?

criticisms, suggestions or improvements are always welcome!

all wallpaper are made with Adobe Photoshop CS

now i'll start with my newest one ... finished today...

Sometimes: 1.280 x 960 resolution with 150 dpi

i got the idea to do this, after taking a look into my tga's folder and as i saw this screeny with the gallic archers running away... that reminds me on the sentence from menander!

I think we just found a loading screen guy. Make one with the 'I Minerva'...my favorite Legion, and with the banner showing like the current loading screen.
Like the top one..that's very nice. I like the borders on the top and bottom you used, but move them down and up a little so 'Roma Surrectum' is in the border. I'll make it the loading screen!

legio i minerva is on top of my 'to do' list! np with the borders... i shrinked them to half of the normal size for that wp, coz of the arrows and smoke!

hell... wanted to finish some more. i had a lot of good ideas... but the cooling system from my geforce 7200 wracked last week... im now working with my old geforce 2 with 64 mb

i have to wait until next week to get my new gfx-card, coz i need an agp card and my dealer have only pci-xpress available! 2d art is no problem for me at the moment but i cant make new screenshots... play only on very low details now!

i was thinking about to make one wallpaper from each fraction as well as from each roman legion. next on my wp to do list are any of the greeks ... macedonia or greek cities!

no problem about the lost... there are still on imageshack...

ahhh... forgot to say... on the coins is shown 'minerva', that's the reason, while i used them! i also wanted to make a 3rd version from one of this two wallpaper... in exact size for the loading screen! drop me a line, if you want have something changed and ofcoz which one you will like to use! i wanted to ask spartan shame which font he was using for the roma surrectum logo on the signatures, so i can use the same! would be much better to have ever the same font as many different!

wow! if you could make a whole series of these, with like one or two of the best units from each faction, in all the same style. most awesome loading screens ever! i would reload and reload just to see them!

welll, give n that most legions have the same stats, they are all in fact "Rome's Best units" and therefore justify a few EACH

is that carthage in your pic of legio minerva? because carthage was whiped out by then. if you do legions you should have them fighting parthians, cantabrians, illyrian/gaul type + rebels, and germans etc

yes... its carthage! i think its better to let them fight against a germanic tribe, as legio i minerva's home were in xanten (germany).

for the carthagians i wanted to do something like a scene from hannibal barca... like the battle of cannae! with the old roman troops hastati, principes, triarii ... and a lot of elephants

anyone have seen the bbc production 'hannibal' ???

but next upcoming as i said before is something about the greeks... anything like this...

only i a higher resolution and with high details!
