    Default force resolution?

    k here's my setup: 32 inch lcd to computer (...and 360) via DVI-HDMI. the dvi comes from my graphics card and goes to the hdmi port of the screen.
    now, my screen only displays certain resolutions without overscan/underscan and such.
    for example, 1216x664 or something is perfect.
    I've set that resolution with the nvidia adjusting thing from the driver dunno what it's called.
    so I have that resolution in the desktop settings and in many games it's also listed.

    but, medieval 2 DOES NOT list it. it only gives me 1024x768, 1600x1200 and 1920x1080. and all of those don't display correctly on my screen.

    so, is there a tool or way to force a custom resolution to the game? this really keeps me from playing the campaign mode you know.

    NOTE: I've tried changing the "resolution" setting in the preferences file already and that doesn't do ANYTHING.

    edit medieval2.preferences.config

    The resolutions there should work (as long as you're editing the right file - edit the one called [modname].config if you're using a mod)

    yes well thanks but that only works if you set a resolution which is already in the game selectable. thats the problem. the resolution I need is a custom one.

    Have you tried adding the resolution to the shortcut?

    Right-click on the exe and create a shortcut, right-click on the shortcut and select properties.

    In the target area add RESOLUTION=1280x1024x32

    So the new target should look like this;
    "...\medieval2.exe" RESOLUTION=1280x1024x32

    Note: Please remember the space before RESOLUTION and if you're using any mods add this to the very end

    [Edit] Depending on your video card you can also use a custom app, such as ATI Tray Tools, to force non-standard resolutions and refresh rates.
