Default How do I make strat map buildings indestructible?

    Hi Guys,

For any new structures that I make for the camp map, how is it possible for me to make them indestructible. By indestructible I mean similar to farms and walls wherein the destroy button is greyed out.

Any help will be credited for Broken Crescent. Thank you!

I don't believe it is, there's never been anything like that for rtw, as far as I know, I think it's hardcoded.

I think the "hinterland" descriptor that roads and farms have is the key to this one.

Will try it right now. Thanks for the tip Snipafist.

And Ramtha, I really hope its not hardcoded. *crossfinger*

Snipafist, you magnificent bastard! It works. Thank you and you have been added as a technical contributer for Broken Crescent here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=88832

All you do is just add the line "hinterland_" to the main building line name and make the appropriate export_buildings.txt changes and voila. Its non-destructable. This is important since it also makes temple structures belong to different religions indestructable thus opens the path for creating "non-convertable" regions.

can you allow buildings to become destructable that aren't currently?

    Like walls and castles?

Perhaps if you change their names?

Haha, glad I could help. Now if only someone could figure out how to do the same thing in reverse (make buildings auto-destroy upon being conquered - specifically the town hall line of buildings) I would be a happy camper.

Have a look in the script for converting Lithuania. There is an entry which destroys all pagan buildings and pagan units upon conversion. Same will work with occupation I guess.

After more then 1 Year, when someone is still interested in this:

In reverse it works! But you must change

    ...export_descr_buildings.txt
    ...export_buildings.txt
    ...export_descr_buildings_enums.txt
    ...descr_strat.txt

Delete this part "hinterland_" in above files.

In reverse it work perfectly. Only the roads have a little issue after destroying. They can be destroyed too, but they are still visible on strat-map. Seems that road-effects remain, too.
