But, why in the world did u take out my large and huge stone walls for? That is a minus in your mod! And a second question is that how kan eye at least (if i have permission to do so) mod the files so i kan get back my large and huge stone walls please. ? I see quite a number of large/huge stone walls on the campaign map. Since I play Romano-British atm I haven't come to assault or defend them myself yet, but at least the structures in quite a number of cities tell of large and epic walls being available.

    IBFD 7.3 Stone Walls

    stone_wall requires factions { eastern, roman, }

    large_stone_wall requires factions { eastern, empire_west, empire_east, }

    epic_stone_wall requires factions { eastern, empire_west, empire_east, } and hidden_resource costantinopoli or hidden_resource ravenna or hidden_resource carthago or hidden_resource jerusalem

    Thses walls can still be in the start of the game(for instance large stone wall in a city of a barbarian faction that cant build them) but they simply cant build them. Marku and Deus ret are correct that they are out there in the cities and (I agree) that they are not historically accurate thus portrayed in the game to be more historical.

    Ok! Thanks but ast least they could have kept the large stone wall. when i assualted the walls on campign i was some what disappointed that the took out the the large stone wall. Even if they wanted to take it out at least they could have put the power of the huge stone wall in them. Example: when rtw 1.0 ver. the greeks could not get a huge stone wall (when sieging), but the had the power of it though! On campign map the city had built the stone wall. That would have been nice but, yet again u experts would say: that is not historically accurate! I'm kool with that! Thanks, too all who put in thier komments!

    I think that's a very good idea...strengthening the lesser walls. I'm trying to do that with my mod but strangely it affected stone wall tower sieges. But I think you might have a good argument for that...other experts might disagree though

    edit.....Correct me if I'm wrong but the major changes in the wall were factions being able to build the stone walls and not the large ones...? the large stone walls (the ones you said were taking out) I don't think have change with the exception of the sassanids able to build them. Epic walls are by the hidden resource, region specific to very few cities.

    They are utterly characteristic of the age, illustrated on coins and metalwork. Drum towers were added to city walls. Often they were ornamental with them placed on the side of a city where most traffic would pass through. What is annoying is that as of one or two versions ago the siege equipment that appears when attacking large walled towns is useless, as it remains unchanged from the previous large wall. It is a poor idea.

    I believe that only 3 "barbarian" factions should have stone walls! They are the british, franks and burgundii. Although british are a "semi" barbarian faction though.

    British are culturaly roman faction, but have only acess to provincial level units and tech, they didnot had the resourcess needed to build large stone walls, and even if they woud become victorius against saxons they will be still isolated from Rome by franks. The barbaric "nations" like Wisigoths, Ostrogoths, Burgunds and Franks who where christian and generaly preserved roman social order in conquered provinces shoud have more roman tech aviable, especialy in agriculture, goverment and military.

    Well, i know for sure that british should not ever get large stone walls and epic stone walls! Neither any other faction, except for ere,wre sassinds! But a normal stone wall should be given to some barbarian factions. Personally i wish to see huge stone walls where they should be when u battling or viewing the settlement on the battle map and only the original capitals (rome ,konstantinople and ciestphon) should have them (at least). Even if you don't want to do it, you should at least have the killing power of it! But only those three factions have that ability! And how come does ere capital doesnt have "double stone walls"?

    Can u not make a normal wall with gate and the make a next wall behind it without a gate so that enemies can pass through without using sieging equipment again? Sorry if i make your mind run that far.
