    Default Any Roman slots left?

Because I had an idea: Get a foot general and a cavalry general - Magister Peditum and Magister Equitum. They could both have high stats, just with one on foot, one on horse?

It could always be an ancillary, like in BI. Maybe make the Equitum only available to mounted generals, and Peditum to foot generals (i.e. Govenors, Proconsuls)

The Governors are foot generals...should they just be called 'Magister Peditum'? Can you explain the significance of what the 'office' was?

In Rome, a Consul, or any leader of an army, was not allowed to fight on horse. Therefore, he had a Magister Equitum, his second in command, to fight on horse for him, who was elected by the Senate. Also, later on, a Magister Peditum came in, to be his second in command on foot (and the foot general in the Principate).

I will ponder this.....good ideas. Should we assume then, as has been suggested, that before the Marian Reforms, let's say, the Roman General should be a foot general and unmounted, with a mounted second in command, and after MF, the reverse.
