Preview VI - Kyrene
Kyrene was chosen for settlement not to facilitate trade, but to exploit its rich soil. Herodotus describes, with barely contained awe, Kyrene's three annual harvests and crops...
Preview V - Technology Trees (Military Settlers)
After some thought we've decided to rework all of the Cyrenaean technology trees from the ground up. We will be replacing all of the existing...
Preview IV - Silphium
According to Herodotus some of the best agricultural land in Africa could be found in Cyrenaica, which allowed it to be known as one of the biggest granaries of the ancient...
Expect some Life of Brian easter eggs ;)
And yes, it will be - but we're trying to make things more interesting (and challenging!) for the player.
Preview III - Cultural Recruitment System
We've previously talked about multiculturalism of ancient Cyrene, which is represent by our temple building chain. But that's not where it ends - our unique...
Time for another preview!
Preview II - Religion
Soon after arriving on the North African shores, the Greek settlers took Libyan wives and were in turn influenced by their culture. They soon...
Time for another preview!
Preview I - Elephants
We're starting a new series of previews, expect a new one every two weeks, on Saturdays. First one we wanted to share is centered about the...
Indeed it has, with Swaraj on board, we are making significant progress and hope to finally finish the submod.
As a taste of things to come, we'd like to show you the revised Unit Roster. Tell us...
I miss these topics!
I hope so as well - I've spent better part of last year trying to find a modeller to help me finish it (including paid commisions), but unfortunately with no luck.
The more, the merrier!
Duplicate post, ignore.
Just a clarification, that Cyrene emblem was actually made by Jake and ep1c_fail :)
The one that'll be used in-game was made by me and retouched by Dominus:

Keep up the good work, Jake!
Feel free to use Cyrene's Expanded flag if you'd like :)
I might also add a Silphium farm chain, I think that effect would work better there.
Thank you!
That could work :)
Another thing I've been thinking about - Silphium Trader would bring in a large amout of coin, but since that plant was (allegedly) used as a contraceptive, building it would...
Thank you all for your continued support - that's what kept me going! Expect more previews in the near future - I've finally found some 3D modellers and Benjin is assisting as well.
Thank you :)
Silphium Plant Trader will of course require the unique trade resource (only found in Cyrene settlement), but Cleruch Farm could be used by any Succesor state and temple of Apollo...
Preview time! Here are some new buildings that you'll able to construct:

Thanks.
Is it possible to add a resource building chain to province's capital? As a general rule these do not have resources at all, although there are some exceptions: for example, Baktra has Spices trade...

Hey, good to see you :) And congratulations on your latest award!
We have talked in the past, yes, but that was nearly a year ago. Thank you for your help! I'll also try to find some external...
Speaking of which, what's the latest 3D model converter? If I remember it correctly, CA (fairly) recently released a new one.
I might, once I manage to find someone to help out with some 3D modelling, as this is the last hurdle, but I'm not hopeful unfortunately, so far haven't had any luck in that regard.
I am, although I'm taking a short break, will probably get back to it in 1-2 months.
Etruscans will be next, although we can't give a date just yet.
Fog's gone, but there's a new problem:

Changing variant_editor_day.environment doesn't help.
Pretty much :) It'll be much easier with a new converter, as not many people had access to old 3Ds MAX.
Thank you all for continued feedback, keep it coming (criticism included)!
Here are more standards:

Cyrene will be playable right out of the box.
I've been checking out the new assets and some of them are actually quite useful even for this time period, here you can see Elite Cyrenean Hoplites...
Good news from Jack Lusted! Turns out ToB tools will come with a new converter:
Yes it does, both ToB and Attila assets can be used no problem in Rome II (it's the same file format - rigide_model_v2).
The problem lies in the fact that we can't convert the models made in newer...
I'm sure anyone modding Rome II has encountered the same problem - no way to convert and then import newly made 3D models into the game. With new modding tools for the Thrones of Brittania to be...
They're all Greek, but probably with some diverse influences :)
First one is based on a Greek Mercenary model by Pegasos:

I've been silent for a long while, but a lot has happened behind the scenes. On that note I'm happy to announce:
