Very disappointed.

The 38 playable factions actually include Barbarian Invasion and Alexander factions. It doesnt refer to the faction limit.
They did say that faction limits have been extended along with map...
Cant tell if you are serious...
I agree with this. I would rather have it as close to the original as possible.
Any attempts at accuracy wont win over the "the sandals are wrong" pretentious crowd of "historians".
I think it might be possible to just port the old assets from mods in the new engine. It might not look good but maybe its worth it if the engine is more stable.
Then maybe move from there and...
I think i can already hear the modding leviathans waking up.
Come on XGM, rise!
I noticed this too. Not sure why the numbers dont make sense.
Talking through google translate is a bad idea. :rofls:
So, is it just me or are the diplomatic missions bugged?
They seem incredibly inconsistent and have a ~50% success rate regardless of character stats.
Also, getting free regions is...
The new agent skills are really great but definitely unbalanced. I actually think they are the best thing in the update. The intrigues are a joke.
Still much better than the RNG spamfest.
I have only played for a bit but so far it seems to me that most of the new options are completely pointless and uninteresting.
The UI is terrible and i have no clue why they decided to use a...
You mean about 2 years after release. It usually takes them at least 3 expansions to fix their games.
They havent had a decent game release since CK2. Stellaris, EU4 and HOI4 were pretty...
They look pretty great.
Some of the horse charges in this game are brutal.
You cant expect the same kind of detail and animations as you find in an RPG which only has to worry...
What a bunch of nonsense. (@

1. Its cut content? really mate? They just kept this one for 5 years as a PR stunt eh?
2. Already paid for? No.
3-4. I dont...
How does one make 'original' historical DLC? That doesnt even make sense.
Also, the issue here isnt people supporting bad DLC. Its that they dont agree with you on its quality. ...
I guess that makes sense. If you found something better in mods then just stick with it.
But not everyone plays mods. In fact modders are still a very tiny minority of players.
...
I think you can just keep them in the 'statesman' role just like with kings if you dont want them as general. They can still be useful.
Why not support this DLC? Especially if you can afford it. Its pretty good and the devs deserve it.
Playing as Macedon right now and my female character has multiple traits.
This is a pretty great update so far.
Wow this is really great. R2 has the most fun vanilla i have played so far.
If the player numbers stay high, i hope they will support the game more.
This actually looks great. Nice to see they are still supporting an older title.
Since R2 is still very popular, i hope they will release more stuff like this.
Rebels can still trigger it i think.
Maybe it has something to do with the supply traits? If you keep your army in enemy lands for too long they will be useless.
Couldnt you just bring new troops to the front line? That makes a lot more sense than retraining.
Changing things to vanilla type retraining might be very difficult.
Doesnt the supply trait make long sieges almost impossible? I never tried it myself since i am usually avoiding starving my armies.
The morale penalty seems really high.
Are you doing anything different with the merc pools in XC5?
I played a Bactrian campaign recently and the Seleucids were basically using the large unit pools and their income to stack spam. ...
I wonder if instead, the elites could be balanced with high upkeep or price instead of turn time. In any case they shuldnt go past 2 turn times for recruitment.
I think the units could be split in tiers when it comes to balance.
Levies - available everywhere from the starting barracks: Light infantry, cheap cavalry, slingers, archers, skirmishers. ...
I think there are some unit variants already in that can replace the models for the pink ones.(Horse archers, spearmen)
Are you planning to make the starting recruitment more accurate? In XC4...
You can delete the kingdoms expansions.
Mods need the kingdoms.exe and i even read on the stainless steel forum that copying it from the disk is enough for mods to work. No campaign install...
Thoughts on the berserkers? The vanilla model is too cartoony for the game IMO.
Some mods use specialists to represent such fighters. Like RS's Wolf Warriors (stealth light infantry) and Bear...
Not as much with Medieval 2. You still see rivers and mountains in the background but fleets, cities, bridges, ports and wonders dont appear anymore.
My suggestions are of course meant for XC5 too but i havent tested the current versions that much. I will do so once the next build is released.
I remember that EB changed the name of the...
They dont seem to be portrayed as elite in the game and work differently from vanilla. They look very much like a cheap levy cohort that doesnt have the experience of a frontier unit.
I...
Arent the Urban cohorts a little hard to recruit? In comparison to the Marian Cohorts they require a lot more buildings to make them available.(stone walls>blacksmith>garrison)
Its a very...
Peltenai are ancient ninja wielding lightsabres. Its no shame to lose to the best.
My feedback is still coming from XC4(and with other mods in mind too) but i hope it can apply to XC5 as well.
1.
I like that units are very expensive in XC. It avoids stack spam and makes battle...
Wouldnt it be better to just use the faction re-emergence instead of hording? It would avoid that bug and maybe make those factions more dangerous.
In all my campaigns, the hordes dont...
I would expect that progression around turn 300 not 133. Very fast expansion. ;)
Any chance you can make future test versions separate from XC4? It seems they install in the same folder.
