Europa Barbarorum II FAQ
About the Mod
Q: What is EB?
A: Europa Barbarorum was started to more accurately represent the barbarian factions in Rome - Total War as more than unwashed hordes but...
1- Mines are bugged. It is a RTW thing, not an EB thing. If you set a mine to 2000, they will only give 600. EB wanted 600, so they are set to 2000. It is correct in all aspect except what the...
Well, those guys landing near Capua are due to BI. They are trying to do a naval invasion. This isn't scripted.
I've never seen the AI give me space. They usually take all of the 'rebel' towns...
Yeah, that one should work with this mod.
It should be, if you are only altering the two files ith the Darth mod...
The Antesignani does have a more protective helm (checkguards add 1 to armor alone) and appear to have more protective clothe components to their armor.
Most archers are inferior to their slinger counterpart, however there are some that are really good. Such as the Persian Archer, the Cretan Archer, the Syrian Archer, and the Imperial Archers...
I was actually refering more to the other things you could do if you modded the code (if you could get access to it), since programs and coding are copyrighted. I don't know if RTW savegames would...
Missing descriptions are one of the things that are hopefully going to be fixed for the next release.
Yeah, I have had similar crazy things happen, but usually the end up causing a crash. Just destroy all of the governments when you take a town. If already had one (lost & retook the town) then tear...
I don't think it is that complex, but 'RomeSage' is, as far as I know, the only savegame editor.
If you could get into the code of the game, you could do a whole lot of things, but getting there...

If you have never modded recruitment in EB, it is very difficult to explain.
The AI can't retrain. Hardcoded
There will probably be no new animations for EB1.
No military access, in fact I don't believe I even had an alliance. Just friendly neutral. The AI gets pissed when you walk in their territory, but they stroll through yours all the time and there...
It would be easy to set the game up where the starting guys have Spartans or the starting Spartans have Spartans, and then on everyone gets a different bodyguard. However, due to the game's...
You have to copy all of their recruitment code from the A1/A2 barracks and add them to the B2 barracks in the EDB.
I've seen this discussion before. The major problem with this is that it would remove the ability to build standard forts.
In M2TW:Kingdoms, it is said that they are going to program perminant,...
I was playing as the Romans and had a big enough empire to be able to afford 10,000 every couple of years to all of my allies.
Here's a picture of that time, Saba attacking Persepolis:...
I had a game where I owned Nabataia through Syria-Babylon to Charax. Saba had all of the Arabian provinces (except 'Arabia' which I had cheated to create a super rebel army at so that nobody would...
It will crash when there are multiple, but it won't if there is only one that is being repaired. A crash is nearly certain if you tear down a bunch then repair the last one.
Money every so often helps. Though, it usually has to be a pretty big amount if they really want to betray you.
Also, keeping a strong border with them will deter them unless they are dedicated...
As far as the game code goes, yes. But as far as EB gameplay goes, that is cheating.
Both AI behavior and diplomacy are hardcoded and can't be modded. So you can't find a mod with true 'intrigue in diplomacy', unfortunately. However, you want a mod that is difficult, then EB is a...
So sayth the expert.
If you want, you can follow this guide:
http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=80270
It isn't really that hard, the only thing you need to remember is to install it to the same directory...
I think of an outline in my head, then just type it in the forum. But my AAR isn't that good, I should maybe think it through a little more. My advice would be to take lots of pictures so that you...
The amount in the description is autogenerated by the game engine. And the amount isn't added the the text description because, depending on how much precious metal resource a province has, the...
Unit recruitment is definately going to be a whole lot better in the next release. Thanks to Arkatreides and his maps, many of the errors have been adressed and fixed.
Btw, "Gaelic" refers to a people living in Ireland. Not to those living in Gaul.
I've never heard of the AI being that dumb. Whenever I try to flank, they'll usually try to counter it somehow.
An AI reinforcement army is usually braindead, though...
The AI will field lots of levies when they are low on money or in crisis. If you let one faction take over all of Gaul, they will start fielding more elite units. Also, waiting for reforms gives...
There are no first cohorts in EB, currently. There is a mini-mod that adds them, though. Check the minimod sub-forum.
If you save your savegame, it will work when you reinstall. I forget if uninstalling EB deletes your savegames, but uninstally RTW probably will. I would suggest copying your save files and then...
Oh yeah, Paint can't open some files. Sorry.
My computer came with "PhotoImpression" which all the more complex pictures (TGA) default open with. And the only thing I've ever used...
The "March of Time" gives the Greeks new units, like the higher level Thor... units. It also gives the Romans a couple new boats.
Messages can be set to only one time, so if there was a messages...
You can change the format with just about any picture program. Just open it in something like "Paint", then choose to "Save As...". You will get the option of name and file type. Choose JPG and...
Messages are hard to mod.
It would be easy to make a message on a certain year for all factions, but to be more specific is hardcoded out.
EB reforms don't give messages. You just have to look for the reform marker in your cities.
I generally put off building the big ports until I have extra money and nothing else to building in the town.
The amount that mines give is bugged (RTW bug). I forget the numbers for 081av2, but...
I would amagine that not too long after the Battle of Activm and the fall of Egypt, the fleet was dismantled or put ashore and forgotten.
