  1. Re: Archaeologists uncover more than 20 sealed coffins...

We know precious little about ancient people lower on the social ladder. Usually we know more about one petty king than about all those thousands of his subjects. That's why this is so important....

    Re: Artillery, anyone use them?

Oxybeles and Lithobolos can be very powerful in concert with phalanx line, easily scoring 200-300 kills in large battles (full stack vs. full stack or more) and scaring off the enemy with fire...

Re: Zheng He Treasure Ships actual size?

I can see a 100m river or lake barge being possible, especially on Yangtze, but for any wooden oceangoing ship, the practical limit is around 80 meters deck length.

Try Pontos before speaking about OP. Takes time to get going, but then, it rocks. Phalangitai, AP swordsmen, great heavy and medium cavalry, slinger-axemen, and oxybeles.

AFAIK the only unit that might be added to core Roman roster is Praetorian cohort with Augustan reforms. RSII way consumes way too many unit slots, if I remember that correctly.

That is correct. Experimental aircraft using tilting propellers for STOL, Do 29 worked quite well, achieving stall speed as low as 24 km/h, but was not developed further.
