interesting, must be improvements in vanilla EB then. i think ill give vanilla a go next just to see how it compares (though im dreading the naval madness and the resultant wars/alliances mayhem) and...
played for over 40 turn as Pontos with the latest CAI update. good thing is that factions seem to have plenty of money, tens of thousands in fact, and can easily ransom their defetead armiees, which...
i just realised that every siege defence ends the same predictable way - waiting for a battering ram to smash gate. and there is nothing a player can do to change this outcome. with flaming arrows...
yes, seems to be working just fine, and i see no flurry of blockades/war declarations, not yet anyway (https://youtu.be/l31VGW_d4LE)
thank you!
are you sure its the new AI? correct me if im...
after reading about and noticing all the naval madness in my game (which wasnt ever an issue before iirc), i'd like to give this a go. is it compatible with the latest 2.4a? and thanks for taking...
apologies if it was mentioned elsewhere already. is there a reason permanent stone forts have been replaced but wooden ones on the campaign map? was a little surprised...
very informative, thanks both for sharing. here is an episode of hellenistic age podcast where dr Devereaux discussed allied contributions and why the system worked so well. the most clear and...
hey everyone, just wanted to say hi and thank you to you all for persevering with this, legendary dedication and effort. hope everyone's enjoying their festive season. all the very best:thumbsup2
you're right. there is a road leading to it and an icon of a vessel next to it so i assumed it is a functioning port, which it isnt (yet). so thats mystery solved, thanks.
im not sure about those...
hey guys, merry Christmas everyone!
found a bug where one of the Kantakouzenos' ports cannot be blockaded. only concerns this one port, it seems. please see the video below:...
thats interesting, i will try to complete the destruction of the opposing rebel faction and going after their capital Didymoteichon next. though the AI moved the capital elsewhere, hope it won't mess...
sounds good, and looks like the changes made are well justified.

hey everyone. is it possible (desirable?) to increase the amount of units in AI Kantakouzenos' stack? should it not be a bit more challenging to wipe him out (see above)?

after all these years playing EBII, highlights from my first ever (and long overdue!) Roman campaign.
CAMPAIGN HIGHLIGHTS: Europa Barbarorum II, SPQR - Carthago delenda est!

is this save game compatible?
also, is there a way to change when 'eligible for office' notifications trigger for Romans? started my first ever Roman campaign and while it is rather fun, it is...
probably a known issue, battle map for Messina in Sicily is all messed up, middle of the sea. Naples besiege the city and i sent an army to relieve it but all my FMs and the entire relieving army +...
all good changes, good to hear, thank you. for battle AI, i do click on the adviser to activate it. open field battles work much better so far.
an observation regarding recruitment. highest tier...
a quick feedback on my early campaign as the awesome Knights of St John.
overall a very interesting and challenging campaign (on H/H). campaign AI is pretty good - i destroyed the closest turks but...
thanks for sharing. Wiley-Blackwell companions are great sources. often prohibitively expensive, especially if you're after a hardcover copy.
here is what i thought was a rather interesting...
thanks, good to hear. will try and give it another go at some point, its got a very interesting missions based story line iirc.
did you annex Caucasian iberia and albania as well?
i cannot really justify current extremely restrictive arrangement, especially when it comes to neighboring powers such as Baktria, which curiously enough can have them recruited (and cataphract...
thanks for this. was the game stable for you throughout? i found the first several turns riddled with post battle CTDs. couldn't proceed.:(
i think my independence event was timed pretty appropriately to circa 250, but i played off screen since uploading it and did the same thing as you with regards to client rulers leaving them and...
all works like charm and save game compatible. wish i had it applied before recording the final episode of Baktria campaign.
hope devs take note of this and implement in the next update.

the final episode of Baktrian adventures, "Forgiveness?"

this latter spawn is probably exceptional and to do with the last ditch attempt to save the faction from total annihilation? i really wish there was a kingdom of Kush/Nubia down there, to contest...
wow you are a star! it bugs me in my Baktrian letsplay when they are in your face half the time. will test it out and report back.
thank you.
im not the one that enjoys a pointless battle fest so im generally with you on that account. with regards to AI, it always needs more support, troops included. it just doesn't cope otherwise. so...
we are getting there!

no one denies that, i was talking of battles specifically. i think there is still propensity for general suicidal charges in vanilla Med2 iirc? agree on CAI, but you seem to forget the dreadful AI ...
hm, i have not seen horde stacks in EBII for quite few versions now. other mods yes, EBII, not really. is it just me (playing on H/H)?
the AI in EBII is largely defensive until it accumulates a 'surplus' of armies. if they only have 1 or even 2 stacks, they are normally quite defensive, guarding their settlement. they need that...
battles worked better in RTW. aside from unit diversity, is there a single thing about Med2 battles that is superior to RTW? swimming can be enabled in Med2. In fact Bulat Steel i started a letsplay...
going on the offensive in the latest episode of Baktrian campaign:

hope M2TW Engine Overhaul Project is still alive. what would also be great is to see a Remastered M2TW at some point, with bugs from Kingdom's fixed, a few new features hopefully implemented to both...
yes but that had to do with the values attached to the forts. they were off in EB due to lack of know-how. Tsardoms cracked it and EB team is aware of how to prevent the AI from behaving the way it...
a couple more ideas. as some of my viewers pointed out, AI cavalry isnt behaving great once the charge is complete and just gets bogged down in the melee. apparently the DEI (mod for Rome 2) solves...
