    Re: Ideas thread?

Hm, if I remember correctly, it's said in LotR that lands around Nurnen were "given" to the people already living there...So wouldn't this mean these lands were never actually a part of RK? This...

    Re: Taking over a City

Well, this about sums it up :thumbsup2

Basically, all you need to know is what each of these options do, and rest is common sense, applied in the particular situation. So, if your own cities are...

Btw, I voted for Serbia and the Horde.

And just a slight correction: Serbia was proclaimed as an Empire (= Tzardom) first in 1346. 'Till...

Re: whats your favorite unit in the game?

    1. Horse Archers - unbeatable, if you use them right
    2. Cataphracts - Battle of Carrhae, grrr... :disgust:

    3. Catapults - they may not be exactly the most subtle and precise unit, but when they...

Re: what are the worst odd you've won with?

@Boromir: Ain't that a bit on the cheating side? ;)

As for me, it was 1:20 (or something like that), Fourth Age mod, army of Rhun (2000+) against me as Gondor (100+), I was defending a city (and...

Yup, that should work. There are even mods (Fourth Age for example) where you have a 'settlers' unit that's good only for moving the population. As far as I remember it was possible in vanilla too.

Well, one possible explanation would be that they don't want to take the provinces they won't be able to hold.

But I think it's just another example of a fabulously stupid RTW's AI

Re: Does it all boil down to the AI?

Exactly! I'd rather say it's an heritage from Shogun (where it made sense), but it is a major problem, 'cause it makes the AI behave like a goddamn Adolf Hitler rather like a medieval ruler. Once the...
