I am surprised no one here in this thread talked about disbanding some expensive ships at the beginning of Ptolemy campaign...
I remember back in EB 2.3, I used to have both SS6.4 and EB2.3 at the same time. I installed SS first, then installed EB. When I click the EB launcher, it also gave me the option to launch other mods...
I am not sure, but historically wasn't foot archers a counter to horse archers, since you shoot better with both feet on the ground, and there'd always be more foot archers than horse archers...
You don't even need luck. Take it by turn 2, then sell a couple of non-money-related buildings so you have the money needed to repair that mine.
and that 0.01% was some of the best experiences I ever had with Total War games, the AI expanded fast, they had great initiative, it's like they are actually thinking and had an overall goal.
...
Thanks guys for the feedbacks. I guess I will just give the AI more time to explore around....
I tried very hard already, same moves, same pattern, it's so "same" that I sent my diplomat to...
I think that is okay, considering the AI is still trying. But with my case, the AI, especially the one city factions, just park their full flag army next to their only city and do nothing, for 10+...
I always played on Hard campaign and Medium battle difficulty, and I used to enjoy the campaign AI. Recently, I noticed the campaign AI has become very "scriptedly" passive with the same pattern of...
Wow 100k.... With topic opener's playstyle, I wish his faction leader would've gained a trait called "hoarder":laughter:
You are right, I tried it last night and it was really rough, my entire starting army got decimated by the nearby rebel armies.... I guess I got too used to playing Rome where I am the boss from the...
Thanks for the recommendation! I will try Pontos right now! I wanted to play as a phalanx faction, but the Greek ones all got some pretty intense start, whereas I like to take it slow in the...
Roman roster is already on steroid compared to rest of the world, even its cavalry is solid; on top of that, its rock solid units, including cavalry, are very easily replenished. I haven't hit Marian...
I am just starting on my Persian campaign, and this looks like some bleak future :(
The sad part is Faramir survived...
this forum will not rest until the strategic level of total war is comparable to that of europa universalis....:laughter:
Next turn you appear outside the city as a rebel unit...
wow forced celibacy for the sake of the RAM....
I agree so much on this part. I hate it when I have a governor in a small town and he gains those bad traits just because the small town cannot build those buildings yet! The game should at least...
I thought only by staying in settlements can characters give births to children...
Outnumber them. If they bring a full flag, I need to bring one and half flag.
Seriously when I saw Phrygia it made me think about Phyrexia from Magic the Gathering; it took me a few moments before realizing it was Antigonids...
I build fertility/farming in every one of my cities... that 0.5% pop increase is so valuable as game progresses...
that's an interesting observation.
;) who says the AI is bad in this game :laughter:
I suspect computer's idea of money is flawed. I used to try to ask computer for loan, I demand 2000 coins, but I offer to pay back 2500 coins in 4 turns, that's a good deal right? 20% interest rate...
like the posters above, I too build watch towers and patrol spies in my province, because even by turning off fog of war, you still can't spot some roaming stacks in your territory, and you need at...
As someone out of shape and lacks exercise, I can carry 5 javelins on my back easily, is this not what ancient people do when they need to carry javelins....
thanks guys for the replies. Now I see population and culture is disconnected :thumbsup2
When population of a settlement increases, does that increased population all belong to the faction's main culture, or does the increased population follow the current percentage of cultures of that...
I see AI does this with their skirmishers.... these little posers act all tough until my screening cavalry runs down on them...
I have seen this as well, also on corsica, carthage has a stack, rebel has a stack, neither side making a move against each other, and the land is getting HEAVILY devastated, like 1/3 of the island...
The real question though, is was there a historic victory marker on the map, and if the Macedonian commander was promoted as Man of the Hour for his performance... I am afraid Macedonians were robbed...
methinks he is sending you a message that he does not think highly of your gameplay....
It's funny how that "old enemy" only had one province left but then manage to take over Pergamon Empire completely on its reconquista.
omg I never knew about this. This game just got deeper for me :thumbsup2
or use them not as generals, but just as a unit in your client general's army, and have him travel around to different battlefields.... You know, like a JEDI for the old republic... Although he...
How to declare war through diplomacy? Is it the accept or we will attack? Does it really work?
Also given the cultural conflict in EB2, sacking a conquered settlement is the easiest choice;...
I just began using another home rule, that if I am going to attack a neutral faction, I declare war by blockading a port/attacking with one peasant first, so the A.I. has time to prepare for war with...
thanks guys now i think this guy's career is gonna get saved .... at the ripe age of 51. :laughter:
